Every professing believer in Jesus Christ should be burdened for the purity of His church which, by definition, means he or she is first and foremost burdened for their own personal purity. As Thomas Watson declares in his book The Pure in Heart, “This is a sign of a new nature: when a man hates what he once loved! And because he hates sin, therefore he fights against it with the ‘sword of the Spirit’ (Eph. 6:17), as a man who hates a serpent seeks the destruction of it.”

I believe we are going to see more and more Protestant churches affirm polygamy. It's actually not a huge step once you adopt the sort of hyper-literal Biblicism that's already the de facto approac in that world. It won't be the mainstream view, but could get traction.

Hear me when I say that you can get away with almost anything in some urban black churches—and I mean anything—like this devilry, for example.
This is LifeWorks Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
According to its website (link below), the church is led by ‘Prophet Isaiah’ and his wife ‘Pastor Lydia.’ As you watch the video, listen to the applause Pastor Lydia receives from the congregation as she 1) acknowledges that she and her husband “are in a polygamous marriage,” and 2) introduces ‘Minister Shakayla’ as her “sister in marriage” as Prophet Isaiah's second wife.
Ironically, on the About page of the church's website, you'll find that among its missions is to: love Christ through obedience in lifestyle.

I first became aware of Barack Obama in 2004, while watching the Democratic National Convention which was held at the Fleet Center (later known as TD Garden) in Boston, MA. In the keynote speech Obama delivered, he employed the same performative style of delivery as in this video. In doing so, he turned that arena into a black Baptist church revival meeting, strategically inserting choreographed voice inflections and accents to garner an emotion-fueled response from the people in attendance. In the more than 20 years since then, Barack Obama has proved himself to be a narcissistic and pathological liar. His performance in this video is what I call "mirror lying." Just as a mirror reflects the left/right reversal of an image, Barack Obama’s words reflect the opposite of what is actually true. The man is a master at mirror lying—and he does it unconscionably—as narcissists are prone to do. You truly cannot believe a word the man says. Not one word. So when you listen to Barack Obama speak, remind yourself that you’re listening to a verbal mirror, and that it is the exact opposite of what he is saying that is actually the truth.
