Just hung up with the committee chair. Good conversation.
CPM: why is Notre Dame ranked behind BYU?
Chair: they have the same record and we go to head to head result
CPM: I notice Alabama is ranked 5 and Tennessee is ranked 13.
Chair. They have the same record and we go to head to head result except in this case where we decided to rank the blowout winner 8 spots lower
CPM: why is Notre Dame, the number one team in Vegas and all the powet rankings outside your top 10?
Chair: they don’t have a win over one of the teams on our top 25 board here
CPM: I see Indiana is number 4. I assume they have multiple wins over teams in your top 25.
Chair: no they don’t
CPM: oh so maybe only one top 25 win?
Chair: no, not even one.
CPM: thanks!

Notre Dame freshman RB Jonaz Walton was in fifth grade when Miami LB Mohamed Toure began his college football career, as first reported by @EHansenND.
Toure enrolled early at Rutgers in January 2019 and is now in his eighth season of college football. He suffered season-ending injuries in 2022 and 2024, and he also benefited from the COVID-19 waiver that gave every player who competed in 2020 an extra year of eligibility.
Toure recorded four tackles against Notre Dame in last year’s season opener and played a key role in Miami’s run to the national championship game.

—> ESPN creates a mystery Power Index that the CFP uses for SOR and SOS
ESPN then proceeds to rank Alabama #5, Kentucky #6 and two loss Texas at #7
All while ranking undefeated UCLA #8, one loss BYU #9 and one loss Notre Dame #11
But I’m just a conspiracy theorist, got it
