One of the best things about starting a company (regardless of whether it is successful or not) is that it eliminates fear. Overcoming the pain of running through walls / getting rejected / dealing with the inevitable twists and turns of building a company - just makes anything you do next feel so light by comparison. And makes you far more likely to “attack” whatever you do next with a more intense degree of ferocity bc you don’t fear failure anymore.

i would rather be an optimist and work hard than a pessimist posting about why things won't work.
it's much more difficult and the most likely path is failure, but society fails if people don't try.
no amount of "it will never work" essays will drive society forward.
I don't think Anthropic realizes how disruptive these changes are to users. I appreciate the extension, but please stop playing games. Either keep it under the subscriptions or put it under the API already.

❤️ @garrytan - when I was building my co., I went through the YC interview and chose not to move fwd.
A few months later post-raise, I caught myself thinking: "damn, YC would've meant not doing this alone."
I solo-founded, even with a CTO, that feeling never fully went away
