It now transpires that a massive ammunitions factory & explosive storage complex is being proposed next to the Auchtertool Hyperscale Data Centre, which is proposed for the rural, picturesque, 1,000 year old Scottish village.
The military-industrial complex has landed and is expanding across Scotland.
Scotland does not need or want this.
Labour Fife Council & SNP ScotGov are in cahoots with the developers. The SNP ScotGov gave the nod to the 'green' data centre location two years ago (Kate Forbes signed it).
A review of data centres is currently under review by ScotGov. The SNP Scottish Government is consulting with big tech, property developers and councils as part of this Data Centre review.
However, It is not consulting with communities, and refuses to do so despite numerous requests. Communities are not given the access to government that the money-men are getting.
The dice are loaded, the game is fixed, our government & institutions are broken. The people have no voice in this grinding system of government.
The SNP & Labour parties are no longer parties of the people. They are full of inept & corrupt 'professional' politicians who have lost touch with the people they are supposed to serve.
An ammunitions factory, explosive storage complex, a 600MW data centre, all sitting on top of one of the biggest gas pipes in the UK... what could possibly go wrong? 🤷♂️
The children of Auchtertool made this video to tell us how they feel about the hyper scale data center planned for our village. Please take a few minutes to watch it.
But this isn't an Auchtertool problem - it's a Scottish one.
The proposed data centre would need roughly half the power currently used by every home in Scotland combined. Who is paying to build all that extra capacity?
It would also swallow huge amounts of water, and take much-needed farming land out of the food chain, which we all rely on.
And to be clear - this isn't about being "anti-Al". A data centre like this powers the everyday: your photo storage, your online shopping, and yes, Al too. The question isn't whether we need infrastructure. It's how we build it safely, and sustainably. And how the people of Scotland benefit from it.
At this scale, the only obvious winner is the developer. It's not obvious what the tangible benefits are for the people of Scotland.
If you think a project this big deserves to be properly thought through, visit our village website to find out more and object.

“The struggle of the People to liberate ourselves from the greed of the Ruling Class ….and from the Power & Wealth Imbalances of top-down hierarchical societies”
Ursula K. Le Guin in 2014:
“Hard times are coming, when we will be wanting voices who can see alternatives to how we live now, can see through our fear-stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being…We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable—but then, so did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings.”
During the feudal era, the greed and power of kings ruled society until the people fought back.
Now, in the capitalist era, the greed and power of billionaires rule society. Like the kings, they think their reign will last forever, but it will only last until the people rise up and change it.
Different eras, similar struggle. The struggle of the people to liberate ourselves from the greed of the ruling class and the power and wealth imbalances of top-down hierarchical societies.
As powerful and inescapable as capitalism feels, it has no power without the people and the workers who make it run! Once the people figure this out en masse the world is ours to collectively share together!

THIS 👇👇👇Is amazing. Eighteenth Century France observed what England did to Scotland, documented it and kept it in their archives. A true witness to events.
The UN are gonna love this.
Liberation Scotland @LiberationScot are far from the only body with the evidence that exposes Scotland’s annexation.
France documents the annexation too. Hear @thomsonchris lay out the facts.

🇻🇪|Delcy Rodríguez Announces the Fire Sale. The Auctioneer in Caracas Works for Washington.
Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez announced that the state will return or sell non-essential state-owned companies. Her words: "Companies in the hands of the State considered non-strategic will be offered to the private sector or returned to their former owners affected by expropriation processes."
Read that again. "Returned to their former owners affected by expropriation processes."
The expropriations were the revolution. The return is the counter-revolution.
Hugo Chávez nationalized Venezuela's oil, telecommunications, electricity, cement, steel, and agriculture. He took those assets from foreign corporations and Venezuelan oligarchs and placed them in the hands of the state. That was the material basis of Venezuelan sovereignty. The oil belonged to the people. The electricity belonged to the people. The land belonged to the people.
Delcy Rodríguez is now announcing the reversal. Companies "considered non-strategic" — a category with no fixed definition — will be handed back to the same oligarchs and foreign corporations that Chávez expelled. The "former owners affected by expropriation processes" are the people who lost their assets because the Venezuelan people took them back.
This is the mechanism of the loot.
Trump's custodial accounts control Venezuela's oil revenue. The Citgo sale stripped Venezuela of its US refining assets. Now Delcy Rodríguez is opening the domestic economy to the same forces. The sequence is complete: foreign control of oil revenue, foreign seizure of refining capacity, and a domestic fire sale of state assets to private capital.
The buyers will not be Venezuelan cooperatives. The buyers will be the same transnational corporations and the same Venezuelan oligarchs who have been waiting for this moment since 1999. The "private sector" in this context means the class that Chávez dispossessed. The "former owners" means the people who ran Venezuela before the revolution.
The puppet is not Maduro. The puppet is the vice president who announces the auction.
Maduro was arrested and hauled to New York. The US installed a client structure. Delcy Rodríguez is the face of that structure inside the Venezuelan government. She is not announcing a policy. She is announcing a liquidation.
The lie of "non-strategic."
What is "non-strategic"? The oilfields are strategic. PDVSA is strategic. But the subsidiaries, the service companies, the logistics networks, the agricultural estates, the cement plants, the steel mills — those are the productive base of the economy. If they are sold, the state loses its ability to direct production, to set prices, to protect employment, and to feed the population.
The "non-strategic" label is the legal fiction that allows the theft. Everything can be declared non-strategic. Everything can be sold. Everything can be returned to the former owners.
The contradiction.
Delcy Rodríguez speaks of "returning" companies to "former owners affected by expropriation." That language is the language of restitution. It frames the sale as justice. It frames the handover of national assets to private capital as a correction of a past wrong.
The past wrong was the expropriation. The expropriation was the revolution. The revolution was the act of a people taking back what had been stolen from them. Delcy Rodríguez is now undoing the revolution. She is calling it a sale. She is calling it a return. She is calling it "non-strategic."
The people of Venezuela are watching. They know what "former owners" means. They know what "expropriation" means. They know that the companies being "returned" are the companies their revolution created. Delcy Rodríguez is not selling assets. She is selling the revolution. She is the auctioneer, and the buyers are the same forces that arrested Maduro, seized the oil revenue, and forced the Citgo sale.
The liquidation has begun. The puppet is holding the gavel.

I have to kick myself to remember that once upon a time in 2015, Jeremy Corbyn trounced YvetteCooper, Andy Burnham and Liz Kendal to win the Labour leadership. I mean trounced them by a country mile. And yet here we are, eleven years later with Burnham installed as an unelected Prime Minister and Cooper holding down senior Labour Party and Government positions despite genuine concerns that she’s seriously out of depth in all of them. Corbyn wrongly removed from said Labour Party. Our political system is utterly corrupt. Utterly not fit for purpose.

The death of Patrick Stewart should remind Britain of what made it great. Born into poverty in Yorkshire, educated at a secondary modern school, inspired by a brilliant teacher and supported by a public grant to drama school, he became a great Shakespearean actor, a star of the RSC and eventually an international celebrity through Star Trek and X-Men.
His was one of thousands of extraordinary talents liberated by the post-war Welfare State.
The NHS, council housing, free healthcare, state education, university grants and publicly supported arts education helped transform Britain into a world leader in music, theatre, film, literature, science and design. Think of Richard Burton, Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay, Michael Caine, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Cilla Black, Alan Sillitoe and Willy Russell.
The 1944 Butler Act was a great beginning. But grammar schools still excluded most children at eleven. Comprehensive education carried the democratic revolution further, opening opportunities for working-class children, including routes to Cambridge and other universities previously dominated by privilege.
The genius had always been there. What changed was the opportunity to develop it.
Yet today we are lectured about the indispensable wealth-creating genius of billionaires and entrepreneurs while our schools, libraries, universities, the arts and public services are starved of investment.
What grotesque economic illiteracy! Britain's greatest investment was never in its millionaires. It was in its working class children.
How much genius are we wasting today because we refuse to make that investment again?
