These are simply not serious people.
The tragedy is that the folly of unserious people can come with serious consequences.
The Good News is that God’s grace is so transformative, that unserious people can experience it even as they struggle to extend it to others.
I can’t decide if it’s more obscene and downright insane that @SlowToWrite could have possibly let his visa go defunct because he was “wrestling” about the Covid vax requirement (🙄🤦🏻♂️), or that Buck is now outing this information about him after Sam came to him privately, or that he’s now being skewered over the coals by the fundies for deciding to get the shot to stay. Calls for public repentance even! 🤣
What it IS is a tragedy all the way around. The fundy cult that weaponized SCIENCE and the call of Jesus to “Love Thy Neighbor” and turned it into a holy war fueled by Fox News, the president, JMac and others has done this. And as they now all scramble behind the scenes to get him released, which they’d never do for any other immigrant, we all wait with bated breath to see if a single one of them will tell the truth and change their minds about what ICE is doing. Highly doubtful, but we can pray. And we can continue to pray for his family.
And Jesus will continue to separate His sheep from these looney, self-righteous goats.

1/ Joel has spent years helping build the ecosystem that coddled and supported the white supremacists he now tries to decry. He spent years celebrating the abuse of political power to the hurt of migrants, strangers, and others.
This has been probably the darkest 24 hours I’ve ever experienced on social media in my life. The things being said about Samuel, his wife, and his small children are unthinkably evil. There is a segment of the so-called “Christian” nationalist crowd that has given itself completely over to Satan. I’ve never had more resolve to defeat these subversive demons invading the Right and invading Christianity.
