No experiment, no clinical case, no imaging study has ever required an immaterial component to explain cognition. Every successful intervention—from anesthesia to deep-brain stimulation—acts on the physical brain. There is no ghost in the machine. Occam’s razor cuts cleanly here.
Theists have such a low bar for evidence:
“Look at the trees!”
“I lost my car keys, prayed, and then I found them!”
“I felt the Holy Spirit move me.”
Here’s an interesting thought experiment, suppose Adam and Eve actually existed and they lived forever if they didn’t sin. Assuming their offspring also didn’t sin and lived forever. In a few thousand years you’d have a quadrillion people roaming the earth, living forever!
The priest getting killed by the falling cross isn’t “a sign”, “God’s judgment” or anything like that. It’s the laws of physics, improper installation, material degradation and gravity. What you expect under Naturalism.
Let’s have this discussion in a few billion years after the sun has expanded and engulfed the earth. /s
