Since Friday, Chase Center has seen…
- Valkyires win a championship
- Golden State teams go 3-0
- Steph dropped Luka
- Draymond ejection
- Warriors’ 17-point comeback win
Incredible aura within those walls right now 🔥
Proof that our algorithm influences what we think “the masses” think
It’s not. It’s just the algo feeding you what you want
My TL - and more importantly everyone in real life - is hopping. The chip has filled all my real life convos the past 2 days
The Bay Area is BUZZING
The Valkyries proved that a defense-first team CAN win a championship.
No dominant scoring center like A’ja Wilson
No elite scoring guards like Sabrina Ionescu or Caitlin Clark
And tbh, the offense was ugly at times. But they made their opponents’ life uglier.
Big picture thought #3 -
This was 100% a team of destiny
They prob should’ve lost Game 3 vs Wings down 16 in do-or-die game
They prob should’ve lost some of the Aces games
And they prob would’ve lost Finals Game 7 had Gabby not detonated
That’s incredible mental toughness
Big picture thought #4 (final) -
Can an NBA team take the same blueprint and run with it?
This “Moneyball” mindset
Take defense-first players on the margins, create a tight-knit culture, add one All-Star, elite coaching, and see how far you get.
Lessons ALL sports teams can take from Valkyries:
- Defense wins games
- No egos. Some got benched. Everyone bought in
- Coaching matters. Natalie is both a psycho in film study and empowers her players.
- Community support. Ballhalla may be best atmosphere I’ve ever seen.
I have the utmost respect for CP3
He actively supported Natalie Nakase (former Clippers asst) and the Valks…
He mentored Veronica Burton, had film sessions with her, etc…
Was a big reason for Burton being an elite floor general…
And culminated in the Valks winning a title.
Ballhalla is 1 of 1
I ain’t ever seen ear-deafening chants to hype their team AFTER a Finals loss in G2
They even cheer after a first missed FT from their own team… to encourage them on the 2nd
And now they - and the Valkyries - are champions forever 🏆
It’s obvious but has to be said
Yaxel is who they wanted Kuminga to be
Aggressive. Versatile. Unselfish.
And most importantly, he doesn’t see himself as the guy to bulls around. He’s willing to do the little things to get better. Not many have that mindset.
99% of sports fans will never see their team win 4 championships in the midst of a dynasty.
I’m one of the lucky ones.
I’ll have to keep telling myself that after every game this Warriors season.
May be a long season, sure, but see first sentence.
For all the headlines circulating today about this - this isn’t news at all
I think I read about Steph’s keratoconus from @ThompsonScribe a long while back in The Athletic
It’s long been out there
Steph Curry says he suffered from a rare eye condition during the Warriors dynasty run:
“It was 2018… Bob Myers texted me after the game because apparently the telecast kept showing me when I was on the bench, and he was like, ‘You’re just squinting, looking like you couldn’t see anything… You should probably go… get that checked out’… They told me that I had a rare condition called Keratoconus… What I found out about it was it’s a progressive condition that can deteriorate your vision over time and it’s irreversible if it goes in the wrong direction… I joke that when I’m all done, my memoir should be called ‘The Whole Time I Couldn’t See.’”

I might be the only one who cares about all 3 today:
- NFL games
- Ben Shelton in the US Open Final
- USA vs France in the FIBA women’s World Cup
Everyone I know is into 1 or 2 of those, but haven’t found anyone else who’s into all 3.
JKS will be an NFL QB one day, 100%
But whoever scouts him will have to look past his INT stats and the team Cal has… to really see what he’s doing
JKS out here throwing some dimes that’ll go down as INT bc the WR just couldn’t hang on to it
As someone who’s watched Steph his whole career, I knew he was 110% locked in this game when he started riling up a hostile crowd
He only does that when he enters psycho mode. And he doesn’t lose on psycho mode
People forget what Steph was doing for Draymond during this run.
Draymond admitted the Boston crowd was getting to him, so Steph started drawing that energy toward himself.
Willingly baiting one of the most hostile crowds in the league on the biggest stage just to take pressure off your teammate is insane leadership
I love Conan but I’ve never seen this bit
This is genius.
Conan sold the “we accidentally double-booked them” apology just long enough for people to almost believe it.
Then Jon Dore and Rory Scovel started performing their entire sets at the exact same time.
The timing is insane. One goes loud while the other drops volume. Random punchlines keep cutting clean through the chaos. Halfway through they escalate with a guitar and an audience member at the perfect moment.
Four minutes of pure controlled madness that still feels fresh over a decade later.
This is still one of the smartest late night bits ever done.
Never seen chaos this fun
We almost getting to a point in civilization where someone’s tombstone will read:
“Here lies Tim.
Beloved husband
Loving father
