The Valkyries proved that a defense-first team CAN win a championship.
No dominant scoring center like A’ja Wilson
No elite scoring guards like Sabrina Ionescu or Caitlin Clark
And tbh, the offense was ugly at times. But they made their opponents’ life uglier.
The Athletic suggests that Warriors believed only Burries had star potential, and Lendeborg is more of a band-aid fix
Agree or disagree?
It takes the stats of each guy at the peak of that decade. So all big names alone won’t work if that decade isn’t their prime
Still chasing 82-0 though.
Actually I looked it up and it was on local networks in the past
Not completely national audience until this year (thus the higher viewership)
1st round hasn’t been completely nationwide in the past. Local networks still carried games (I only know bc that’s how I watch the first round every year)
Had to look it up and apparently it’s part of the NBA’s new $77B deal they signed that started this year
