I will not link to any online content about this but will say that elected officials children should not be the target of political attacks.

"The language that is being used has a specific resonance, which, historically, has been used to change regime type. It is important that the rights of human beings were violated. It is important that the rule of law was ignored. It is important that the executive is trying to define reality."

Carefully chosen instance to defy the courts. But if they get away with it, anything goes.

Good grief. Poilievre, who has been an MP for over 7000 days, and who will be running for his 8th (EIGHTH) term in the coming election, is whining and clutching his pearls that some Liberals are running for their fourth term.

Only 6.6% of countries are full democracies. Canada is one of them.
That's something to be proud of. Something worth fighting for.
*Data comes from a division of The Economist. The report is interesting reading if you're worried about the state of modern politics.

Mark Carney has firmly planted himself across the socially liberal to the progressive conservative and firmly grasped the massive Canadian centre swath of voters.
Bye Pierre.

If you're not a fan of what's happening in the United States of America at the moment. It's probably a very good idea to avoid supporting Pierre Poilievre's no common sense party altogether.
Slogan that.

I think it’d be a nice gesture if we all observed a moment of silence for all the F*ck Trudeau flags that died today after a long, hard-fought battle from the back of all those broke Canadians’ $75K pickup trucks.

I can’t believe Rubio is trying to legitimize Trumps crazy aspiration to annex Canada…. In Canada! Maybe just better not to speak in public on this idiotic issue, Mr. Secretary.

I actually like Mark Carney in a big way. I see a real homecoming, of intelligence, over stupidity.

My sense is Canadians are utterly united on this and ruthlessly determined. Americans? Nobody voted for this. Nobody.

Trump's Tesla car lot stunt yesterday was so over the top that it felt like the kind of effusive demonstration of support for someone--Elon Musk--that often precedes tossing that someone overboard. And Wiles, Vought, and Miller are out to get him. I think they will.

Historian here:
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

The big auto plants in Canada are not Canadian owned, they are subsidiaries of American and International auto manufacturers.
Tariffs that shut them down or shut their US plants down will hurt the US and International corporations and crash the US marketplace and stock market.

Just pointing out, as an actual historian, that John A. Macdonald- who the far-right like Ferreri here is obsessed with unapologetically defending - was appointed Prime Minister before facing a public election. It's called the Westminster system.
You can't make this stuff up.
