I wanna build like 300 very "meh"-tier computers like, the idea of having a ton of Celeron or Pentium processors lying around for no reason is really appealing to me right now

For added context, I've been shopping around for 2011~2013-ish parts or laptops to use as a target platform for game dev. You can find 2013 dual-core Pentium CPUs on ebay for like, $10 and a MOBO for it for like, $30. The prices are so appealing.

Gotta once again shout out @SungrandStudios for all the work he's put into releasing *BRAND NEW* games for the #WiiU and #3DS as a send-off for the consoles! Please check out his stuff, and if you like what you see be sure to pick 'em up before the #eShop closes next month!

Garbage collectors in programming are extremely nice for making sure resources are available. But goodness... If it ever junks something it's not supposed to, it makes for a nightmare of a debugging process. -w-;; I never feel safe even after fixing it.

A lot of you might already know this, but Masahiro Sakura (Smash Bros) has a Youtube channel in which he discusses game development: From particles, to rendering techniques, to pacing out games. Haven't watched it all, but there's some excellent stuff! youtube.com/c/sora_sakurai_e…

Sakurai* gosh dang typos. When we getting that edit button?
Follow up: Ghoul Busters launched today for the #3DS! It's now available on the eShop! It's been fun getting a chance to follow the development! Really love what the developer has been doing for these platforms! Very excited to give it a shot! 👀 nintendo.com/store/products/…
With the eShop shutdown date for WiiU and 3DS fast approaching I'd like to spotlight an #indiedev who's coming out with *7 new games* for the #3DS and #WiiU! (You read that right!) From 90s-style platformers to on-rails shooters, check out @SungrandStudios youtube.com/watch?v=KGicaIYy…

Why the recent announcement of value reduction in #FinalFantasyXIV is (probably) not due to PS4 limitations (since I know people will be thinking it)

Big congrats to @dvoidis for Valheim being shown off at the PC Gaming Show! I got really excited when I saw that trailer! Best of luck! :)

Valheim (by @dvoidis ): Viking survival game. Went in with low expectations but was blown away. Hitting stuff is super satisfying, base building is neat. Encourages teamwork. Can tell there's a lot more to the game than meets the eye. Definitely grab some friends and try this out

Thoughts on UE5 as a UE4 developer (Like anyone cares): Hahahahaha I'll believe it when I use it. Still here with my hour-long compile times and constant crashes. Can't get me to believe I can pack an infinite amount of triangles on the screen with no performance repercussions.
Thoughts on the PS5 (like anyone cares): while visual fidelity doesn't look too drastically different from the last gen (yet), I'm excited for more consistent gameplay at higher resolutions. Also some interesting games shown off! Not a day-1 buy for me, but interest is piqued.

"Stray," "Bugsnax," "Kena: Bridge of Spirits," new R&C game, and "Deathloop" all stuck out to me. Predicted the new Spider-Man game back when the first was in development, but I originally expected it to be a second act of the story/DLC for the first game rather than a standalone
Just found out that Battlefield V had its last update recently. Shameless plug for a game I love, but if you're looking for an active multiplayer WW2 shooter, I'd highly recommend checking out "Hell Let Loose."

It's essentially like a Battlefield game, akin to the BF3 and 4 days of "combined arms" warfare (vehicles and troop combat), with strategic elements of games like Squad or ArmA sprinkled on top. It's still very active, and it's very easy to find populated servers.
