I'm not sure why it was so controversial when the SE CEO attributed slow sales of FF16 to PS5 exclusivity. Despite Sony puffing themselves up, the PS5's adoption rate has been slow (proof: All the PS4 games that are still releasing.) Going multi-plat makes sense for SE.

Haha I mean that could be a good use for them! But you probably shouldn't be giving me a reason to make bad purchasing decisions, haha >w>

For added context, I've been shopping around for 2011~2013-ish parts or laptops to use as a target platform for game dev. You can find 2013 dual-core Pentium CPUs on ebay for like, $10 and a MOBO for it for like, $30. The prices are so appealing.

I wanna build like 300 very "meh"-tier computers like, the idea of having a ton of Celeron or Pentium processors lying around for no reason is really appealing to me right now

Gotta once again shout out @SungrandStudios for all the work he's put into releasing *BRAND NEW* games for the #WiiU and #3DS as a send-off for the consoles! Please check out his stuff, and if you like what you see be sure to pick 'em up before the #eShop closes next month!

Garbage collectors in programming are extremely nice for making sure resources are available. But goodness... If it ever junks something it's not supposed to, it makes for a nightmare of a debugging process. -w-;; I never feel safe even after fixing it.

Sakurai* gosh dang typos. When we getting that edit button?
A lot of you might already know this, but Masahiro Sakura (Smash Bros) has a Youtube channel in which he discusses game development: From particles, to rendering techniques, to pacing out games. Haven't watched it all, but there's some excellent stuff! youtube.com/c/sora_sakurai_e…

Follow up: Ghoul Busters launched today for the #3DS! It's now available on the eShop! It's been fun getting a chance to follow the development! Really love what the developer has been doing for these platforms! Very excited to give it a shot! 👀 nintendo.com/store/products/…
With the eShop shutdown date for WiiU and 3DS fast approaching I'd like to spotlight an #indiedev who's coming out with *7 new games* for the #3DS and #WiiU! (You read that right!) From 90s-style platformers to on-rails shooters, check out @SungrandStudios youtube.com/watch?v=KGicaIYy…

Off topic, but what math did you use to get the gems to rotate away from the character when colliding with them? Is it just rotating by the opposite of the collision normal? I really love that effect!

I think you're allowed to use the same account, but I personally wanted to distance my professional work from my personal account. I felt like it was more secure, too. Less people would know about my dev account, and with no games hackers wouldn't care to steal and resell it.

There's a free plugin called UINavigation that helps, but even that has its quirks... I can't believe that Unreal *still* doesn't have a native way to poll controller info (e.g. what type of controller provided the input).

just heard about #Playdate . Definitely might look into making something on this thing 👀 play.date/
Btw for anyone reading this who's never worked with UE4, if you see this when you go to delete something it's like a 95% chance the editor will crash.
