Must-read in @TheFP:
EXCLUSIVE: Yaniv Hayoun was on a flight from Dubai to Israel with his family when one of the co-pilots stabbed the other and sent the plane into a nosedive.
He told us how he and a group of other passengers saved the lives of all 180 people on board while flying at 17,000 feet.

It was a special day today to witness George and Sylvia Melville’s incredibly generous $10M gift to the Digestive Health Centre at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Proud as a board member and deeply thankful as a patient.

We live in a divided country. A country where many people feel they can’t talk to those with whom they disagree. Where people can’t speak across the political divide—or even sometimes across the kitchen table.
Things That Matter aims to change that.
Launched as a collaboration between CBS News and @TheFP, and sponsored by @BankofAmerica, Things That Matter is a series of town halls and debates that will feature the people in politics and culture who are shaping American life. The events will be held across the country, in front of audiences who have a stake in the topics under debate. Debuting in 2026.

This is not just one person's experience. This is now the experience of the majority of Jewish medical students and young doctors @UofT. There was no anti semitism when I was there - or least I never felt it. In the last 5 years or more it's been pervasive, systematic and getting worse. The question is why? Ask yourselves what has changed in our society that now makes this acceptable again. Hint - it's not about Israel. The demonization of Israel is just the new way to justify it.
Canadian medicine has an antisemitism problem.
A heart-wrenching read of the lived experience of a physician who faced antisemitic discrimination in Canadian medical education published in the Canadian Medical Education Journal (@CmejEditor) today.

Today, Vancouver City Hall and Burrard Bridge will be illuminated for Israel's 76th Independence Day.
We recognize and uphold fundamental freedoms of speech and the ability to peacefully protest whether at City Hall, or across Vancouver. That being said, it’s equally important to emphasize that our city maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards hateful speech and violent demonstrations.

This letter by Selina Robinson to her former @bcndp colleagues is a stunning indictment of the #Antisemitism taking hold of the #NDP
To hold Jews to a double standard is Antisemitism
To ignore, as a government, a clear and present threat to a minority group is inexcusable
