Jayden Daniels said the biggest area he can grow is his "urgency in and out of the huddle... get up to the line of scrimmage and give more time to dissect" the D etc.

I want y’all to know “fits” doesn’t mean “linked to” or “interested in”. Just teams that have a clear need and that player could fit the situation.

Here is Jayden Daniels "waiting to see his receiver get open before he throws"
Replying to @nick_akridge
he’s not processing quickly, quite the opposite, he has to see his receiver get open before he will throw - and he doesn’t read defenses that well - but he is very accurate when he does throw and he refuses to throw interceptions almost as much as Wilt refused to get 6 fouls l

HOF Kurt Warner questioned if Jayden Daniels is being aggressive enough —bold talk from a QB who had Hall of Fame and Pro Bowl receivers most of his career. If Warner had #Commanders weapons, he would have found himself back bagging groceries. My column washingtontimes.com/news/202…
Most of our local media have no idea what they are looking at or talking about. I'm glad people like @nick_akridge and @MarkBullockNFL put content out like this.
No new film after the bye week so @MarkBullockNFL and @nick_akridge focused on the discussion around Jayden Daniels play this season and broke down their thoughts with film:

The internet made me get emotional and defend my quarterback. He's really good, don't listen to the narratives

He'll miss the TNF game vs the #Commanders in 3 weeks
3rd round pick in 2024, from Bowie MD.
Could be worth a look?

John Wall says he still texts his mother every morning and night and has continued to pay her phone bill to keep her number active since she passed away in 2019
“I made sure I paid the bill for that for the rest of the time I’m going to be on this earth, so I can send my daily text in the morning and my daily text at night”
“It helps me. I know she can’t respond, but I can still send my messages and know that nobody else has her number. And sometimes you have your moments when you just sitting at home and you just reflect”
“And I always look at pictures and reflect. My display screen on my phone is my first game against the Sixers, and we win the game and I give her a hug, and I always keep that as my bio picture”

The Commanders were never an option for Quenton Nelson per source. The Colts wanted to send Nelson where he wanted to go, and to a contender, and they took less compensation to do so. They think VERY highly of Q. Don’t crash out Washington fans, it was never happening.

Not at all what he said. Did say If they don’t have better results it will be a name to be focused on. Being accurate is important.

The @Commanders are signing DE and 2024 SEC DPOY Kyle Kennard to the PS per @BobbyMcRaeII @mcraesports_ The team had interest in Kennard in last years draft. There is tremendous upside with a now healthy Kennard. #NFL #Raisehail

This is why I believe the #Commanders should prioritize an offensive head coach in the next hiring cycle
We've talked enough about the offensive line and skill positions... but I'm worried that the inability to stick to an offensive vision is stunting Jayden Daniels' growth
Caleb Williams struggled enormously with adapting to Ben Johnson's offense. But Ben is a terrific head coach, and Caleb has developed into a top MVP candidate
One of the main reasons the Commanders moved on from Kliff Kingsbury was to incorporate more under-center offense, with the belief that would further develop Jayden as a quarterback
How's that worked out?
The Commanders were in shotgun on 74.4% (2nd) of plays with Kliff. That usage has dropped, although it's still close at 66.1% (6th) with Blough, and many of the team's best moments have come when they abandoned their under-center offense
The team was only under center 10.9% (32nd) of the time with Kliff — they're up to 27% with Blough, although that's still only 30th in the league
But this is where the problem truly lies...
When under center, the Commanders are DEAD LAST in EPA per play. They lose 0.3 points relative to the expectation every time they get under center
And to make matters worse, their under-center EPA/pass falls to -0.54 (31st). So these numbers aren't skewed by their general inability to run the ball — they're actually helped by their rushing numbers.
The key difference is that without Kliff, the Commanders' shotgun EPA/play is +0.01 (15th), nine spots below their +0.07 (4th) mark with Kliff
In other words, the "development" piece isn't occurring, given the offense's general inefficiency under center, and the shotgun reps aren't as effective as they were
As always, there's plenty to talk about. O-line, receiver, coordinator, injuries, etc... but a great play-calling head coach presents a consistent vision that is established and expanded over multiple years
Jayden was in a scheme that was initially effective but wasn't great for QB development. But now that he's changed offenses, the returns haven't been what they were expected to be. In fact, the team probably never would've changed offenses if they knew this was what was in store
An offensive head coach — if they are the right guy — doesn't let that happen and maximizes an MVP talent like the one that plays in Landover
