into the main narrative in a very satisfying way which serves the film but I can see others taking it as an indulgent mess. Whether the viewer by the end is won back over from the initial feeling of disappointment created by this twist will probably be the main divide in opinion.

Digger initial thoughts (no overt spoilers): Iñárritu makes a huge risk by placing an incredibly derailing twist very early into a film which probably would have been well received without it. I believe the second plotline created by the twist eventually weaves itself back
