Thanks to the quick action of the Secret Service, I am glad to hear former President Trump is safe and wish him a speedy recovery. We can disagree on politics, but political violence of any kind is wrong and antithetical to the core American values we believe in.

There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. I was part of a rescue today @McDonalds on St. John St. when 10 ducklings slipped into a storm grate. The store manager and I pried off the grate, and I pulled 5 to safety with a cardboard box taped to a monopod. The rest of the ducklings resisted, so the manager went in. Hero.
