A fake job interview helped expose billions in crypto assets. Think about that for a moment.
One detail from the recent @binance security incident really caught my attention. According to Binance's investigation, attackers used a fake recruitment process to compromise an employee's computer.
That eventually gave them access to internal systems involved in authorizing transactions, contributing to a breach affecting approximately $6.34 billion in digital assets.
Binance has committed to covering the losses, but the incident raises an important question for the entire crypto industry.

As more institutions and everyday users explore blockchain technology, trust will become one of the biggest competitive advantages in digital finance and that trust has to be earned through the way products are built and operated.
Incidents like this should encourage everyone working in crypto to examine their own security practices. The industry has come a long way, but we still have plenty to improve.
