Rick Carlisle on Dusty May entering his first year as an NBA coach:
"The lessons go on, even when you get a quarter century into it. I could tell you that. Dusty's an amazing coach. One of the best coaches in the world. He proved that last year. He's gonna mold this team into a team that has the identity of his Michigan teams, I think. I see a lot of similarities. They're disruptive. They're long. They're athletic. They play free. He really empowers his best players. They're gonna be very good."

The Mavs just finished shootaround here at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. PJ Washington & Morez Johnson Jr. are getting extra shots up.
The Pacers are having a “gold out” for their home opener, which marks Tyrese Haliburton’s first regular season game here since he tore his Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.

While you were sleeping in North Texas, quite a scene here in China as roughly 2,000 fans awaited Cooper Flagg’s arrival for a private New Balance promotional visit to Macao’s NBA Flagship store.

Given all the recent talk about Cooper Flagg’s height, I asked his longtime trainer Matt MacKenzie (@resultsbb).
Says Matt: “I haven’t put a measuring tape next to him, so I can’t confirm or deny if he’s grown in height. All I can say is he’s had one hell of an offseason. And no matter if he’s 6-9, 6-10 or 6-11, he’s going to be a problem.”

Nellie… You didn't just draft me. You believed in me. You saw things in my game before I ever realized I could do them. I've said it a million times and I will always say it: I don't think my career could have turned out how it did without you being my first coach and giving me the freedom to play my game. I can only say THANK YOU. For everything.
RIP legend.

In 2020, we had a guy on from a ballroom in Lithuania, I think it was, who was there to see a 16 year old French kid he swore was unlike anything else on earth. I thought he was nuts.
He was right.
That guy @Mike_Schmitz is now the Mavs GM.

Kon Knueppel just finished with six points on 2-12 shooting and was a -20 in a win-or-go-home game. His head coach benched him for the end of the fourth and all of overtime. His team still won.
This was the sixth time that Knueppel finished with less than 10 points this season. Third time in the last month.
Cooper Flagg finished with less than 10 points twice this season. One was the fourth game of his career. The other he got hurt in the second quarter.
This Rookie of the Year race shouldn’t even be a conversation.
