A RETURN TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE
69 vehicles burned and around 100 Kurdish families attacked while returning home to Girê Spî (Tal Abyad) after years of forced displacement. The attacks were carried out by settlers and ISIS cells backed by Turkey, in full view of the STG.

The Girê Spî Displaced Persons Committee confirms that Abdullah al-Jarbou and Khalil Malouh, along with commanders & personnel from the Syrian Ministry of Interior, are behind the incitement against returning Kurds, the attacks on them, & the burning of their vehicles.

Besê Hozat, KCK Co-Chair: The Turkish state is taking no steps of its own. The peace process is currently frozen, and the isolation imposed on Leader Apo remains in place and has not ended.
For the process to move forward, Leader Apo’s status must be officially recognized.
