His name was Alois Brunner, Captain in rank of SS-HauptsturmfΓΌhrer in the Schutzstaffel (SS). He was part of Eichmannβs unit (Referat IV B4) in the Reich Security Main Office (RSHA), which was responsible for organizing the deportation of Jews to concentration and extermination camps during the Holocaust.
He imported a system designed to strip people of their humanity, turn them into emotionless animals to kill and torture others, and then let them walk out of prison to live their lives as if they were just working in a food canning factory.

How does one compassionately hold space for someone else's grief when one's own emotional regulation is suffering greatly (from the same losses)?
It's very difficult (but important/necessary) for me to emote/listen "proportionately"/"appropriately".
