What we’re learning from the 2026 Ofsted Framework Over 130 schools have now been inspected under the 2026 Ofsted framework — and we’ve been analysing what’s emerging (incl. early primary scorecards). Early patterns we’re noticing: ✅ Achievement is a key pressure point ✅ “Expected” is the most common baseline ✅ Inclusion is often a real strength ✅ Implementation gaps are being called out ✅ Early Years quality is repeatedly highlighted Practical insight from real reports (not legal analysis): headteacher-chat.link/ofsted… #Ofsted #SchoolLeadership

The vast majority of children permanently excluded from primary school have Special Educational Needs. Let’s change that. Let’s invest in them; not only the right thing to do - the only wise thing to do - because every child either becomes a contributor or a cost to the economy.

Replying to @MarkHeath45
This government wants to pass a bill that's supposed to be for children's wellbeing. It will make it very difficult for parents to take children out of schools to homeschool. If I had young children now, I would keep my kids safe. You can't trust this government to do the same.

There were 82 speakers at the Second Reading of the Children's Wellbeing & Schools Bill. I raised problems of a politicised curriculum (and yes, had a dig at Starmer over Adolescence). The Bill not only undermines school autonomy but creates huge state powers of surveillance of parents, in particular by demonising home schooling. What is the reputation of the state when it acts as a parent in children’s homes? Please don't mention grooming gangs…

Bracknell is small, yet its Area SEND inspection shows "systemic failings" & "significant concerns" for children with SEND. Leaders "recognise urgent need" to improve but as they don't understand learners' needs they can't..fix the issues. Good grief! files.ofsted.gov.uk/v1/file/…

The worst kept secret in SEND - corporate neglect of vulnerable children and families by Local Areas - Officers are complicit in these actions and should be held fully accountable. They are playing poker with people lives and flagrantly disregarding statutory duties!
If you’re fighting for the rights of disabled kids, you’re going to want to read this. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ @BBCNWT @BBCWomansHour @itvnews @sendagenda @SENDconsultant @SEND_Action @SENDLawyers @BBCBreaking @gfreeman2012 @SENDCONF25

We rank bottom of 27 countries for high rates of unhappiness among 15-year-olds. There is a #MentalHealth crisis. Schools forced to become competitive #ExamFactories, with rigid, intolerant discipline, are a big factor @MoreThanScore @YoungGreenParty

Oh FFS . So @leicesterliz disabled people aren't 'ordinary'? Do you somehow think all disabled people have congenital defects? What about those 'ordinary people ' disabled with osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, brain tumours, or in a car accident? Worst bit of ableism I've seen.

To parents and carers of autistic children: What’s one piece of advice or information you wish you had known earlier in your parenting experience? I'm writing some materials for parents and I'd really like to include your wisdom (anonymously if you'd prefer) RTs appreciated🙏

Stop labelling children as SEND. All children have barriers to learning, just some more than others - is the message from Tom Rees. (Pointedly sidestepping the debate that we have a system where funding depends on the award of labels). schoolsweek.co.uk/umbrella-s…
