A fascinating moment in a standard High Court summary judgment application. Judge Elmien Du Plessis noted the defendant used AI to draft his heads of argument, and didn't even blink. First time to my knowledge that a court just goes with a "yeah, OK" acknowledgment of AI tools being used by a self-represented party.
Let me also say that, while the effort failed (and based on the reasons for judgment alone), the defences raised were not obviously terrible. Pretty much what you hear on any Tuesday in Motion Court when summary judgments are argued.
