Mi Hija me llama, me cuenta que un auto estacionó en infracción detrás de ella y no la deja salir (para adelante no hay espacio), y me pregunta qué se hace en estos casos … ¿qué le digo? 😳

Padilla is an anti-housing politician who bragged to me about getting an affordable housing project reduced from 6 stories to 3 stories. She also said that broken street lights allow her constituents to better see the stars. And worth saying: no one has been more vindictive and petty ever since Nithya had the audacity to challenge Bass for mayor, and by extension, all the council members who decided to eat shit and pretend Bass is doing a bang up job. Which explains why this "endorsement" is so warmed over. Oh the mayor is reachable by phone? Awesome. The city is falling apart.
Take it from Councilwoman Imelda Padilla, Los Angeles needs a mayor who is willing to work with every City Councilmember to deliver lasting results for Angelenos. I’m committed to working together with our city leaders and constituents to keep moving Los Angeles forward and ensure our city is ready for the 2028 Olympics! Make your plan to vote now and get your ballot in on or before Election Day on November 3rd!

I've uncovered why LADWP water rates are skyrocketing. LADWP's supplier said water conservation was too successful, leading water use/revenue to collapse— justifying a 40% rate hike. They asked us to save water, so we did. But we saved too much, so they're spiking our rates.
An independent, non-city-affiliated audit of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power rates has been ordered by Mayor Karen Bass, her office says. ktla.com/news/local-news/ind…

Police will be like "you can't ride a bike without a light, it's unsafe," and then murder you.
Eric Wayne Baker was traffic-stopped by Phoenix PD for riding a bicycle without a front light, assaulted during rough arrest, tasered multiple times and restrained until he died during arrest. Eric Wayne Baker Age: 52 Gender: Male Race: White Date: 04/04/2026 Location: Buena Apartments, 1400 block of W. Dobson Road / University Drive and Dobson Road City: Mesa County: Maricopa State: Arizona Agency: Mesa Police Department Officer(s): Not Disclosed Cause of Death: Taser Event: Died after police foot pursuit, physical restraint and multiple Taser deployments during traffic stop for riding bicycle without front light On 04/04/2026 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mesa Police Department officers saw 52-year-old Eric Wayne Baker riding a bicycle near University Drive and Dobson Road. Police said the bicycle lacked a required front light. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens, and Baker continued west on University Drive before entering the Buena Apartments. Two officers pursued him on foot while a third drove around the complex. Baker crashed his bicycle onto a concrete walkway. Police said Baker pulled away, would not give officers his hands, attempted to get up and kicked at officers as they tried to arrest him. During the approximately one-minute-and-35-second struggle, officers physically struck Baker and deployed Tasers multiple times. Three officers eventually handcuffed him. Police also learned Baker had an active felony warrant related to a probation revocation. Bystander video presents a disputed view of the struggle. The recording shows three officers restraining Baker on the ground. Baker's face appears bloodied, and he can repeatedly be heard saying that he cannot breathe. A witness told ABC15 that Baker was not fighting officers but was pleading for help. Baker's daughter, Charlee Baker, later disputed the police account that her father assaulted an officer. Police said approximately 45 seconds after Baker was handcuffed, officers moved him onto his side. About 40 seconds later they requested an expedited medical response. Police said Baker continued yelling, kicking and moving on the ground, and responding medical personnel were initially unable to obtain his vital signs because of his movement. Baker was placed in an ambulance for transport to a hospital. He became unresponsive during transport. Resuscitation efforts were begun, but he died. Baker's family retained civil-rights attorney Benjamin Taylor and questioned the amount of force used during an encounter that began with a bicycle-light violation. Three months after Baker's death, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's autopsy findings had still not been released. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office currently lists Baker's in-custody death investigation as “Awaiting submittal,” with Mesa Police Department as the investigating agency. The three involved officers were placed on 40 hours of critical-incident leave and later returned to duty. Mesa Police did not refer the death to an outside agency, stating that it did not meet the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team's criteria. The department's Critical Incident Review Board, including Internal Affairs and Training Division personnel, is reviewing the incident. Weapon(s): None reported. Took me an hour to get what typically takes 8 minutes by car. Deleting Metro Micro so quick from my phone. (Don’t even get me started how expensive it is to subsidize this service that could just go to fixed bus services and Dial A Ride).
I am sorry but I am such a Micro Metro hater. Every time I have tried to schedule a ride it is 10-15 minutes late and you have to wait in your designated window—so you wait for like 30-40 minutes. Just give me more frequent bus service!

Not surprising in a country where the Maximum Speed is treated—universally—as a minimum. The police will literally write you a ticket for going below the stated maximum speed.

Yet another delay of the LAX people mover. It’s now on track to be four years late and almost $1 billion over budget. This can’t keep on happening. As mayor, I’ll make the reforms to ensure future infrastructure projects are on-time and on-budget.

To put this into perspective, Street lighting was cut by $7.5M during Bass’s first three years. Sanitation was cut by $11M. Look at the effect those cuts have had on the city. This award is $11M, equal to the sanitation cuts. The LAPD continues defunding our city.
