WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners.
Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads.
Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was.
Got a root shell.
then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems.
This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

imagine a fully integrated AI future where being banned means you are now economically useless. everybody around you is a superhuman living in the future but you violated TOS and now are cut off.
your smart glasses that showed you a beautiful utopia? the color has left them. you are forced to live in a bleak gray world. you are forced to look your wife in her actual face and she is not happy with you.
you are digging holes with a spoon while everybody else is building skyscrapers with an army of bots.
this is the real doomer catastrophe
open source is the only way to protect your freedom, your economic viability & your ability to tell these companies to fuck right off.
a few months ago openAI and anthropic were desperately begging the admin to make it legal for them to collaborate. if they got their way, one TOS violation on either platform would send you directly to the sunken place.
Correct.
Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be.
Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them.
Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week.
Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.
Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia.
SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR.
That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell.
End of story.

when Nietzsche said:
“I know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and impossible. The fact that something seems impossible shouldn't be a
reason to not pursue it. That's exactly what makes it worth pursuing. Where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain and there was no risk? The only true failure is shrinking away from life's challenges."

Sigh.
Some chatter on social media would have you believe that crime is out of control.
The facts tell a different story.
As @frasernelson has shown in his Substack today:
Violence is at its lowest level since the crime survey began in 1981.
Robbery is at a record low.
Crime, excluding fraud, is 78% down on its peak in 1995.
And the stats show this Government is delivering on its promises too:
Knife crime is down 11%.
Knife murders are at their lowest level in 35 years.
Thefts including phone snatching have fallen by 20% in the last year alone.
But I know there is more that we must do, and we will:
We’ve put more than 3,800 extra neighbourhood officers into roles, with named, contactable officers for every neighbourhood.
We’re introducing the most significant reforms to policing in a generation.
We are tackling rising rates of violence against women and girls through our landmark strategy.
And we are tackling crimes like fraud, more prevalent in our increasingly online world, with £250 million directed to this challenge in our Fraud Strategy published this year.

This might be the wildest minimum wage statistic I've ever seen.
In 1971, the federal minimum wage was $1.60 per hour. Gold averaged $40.92 per ounce.
It took 26 hours of minimum-wage labor to earn an ounce of gold.
In 2025, the federal minimum wage was $7.25. Gold averaged $3,432 per ounce.
It took 473 hours of labor to earn that same ounce.
Your hourly wage increased 4.5× in dollars.
The amount of labor required to acquire gold increased 18.5×.
Measured in gold, the federal minimum wage lost approximately 95% of its value.
Fifty-four years of nominal wage increases, and one hour of work buys a fraction of the monetary asset it once did.

In my field, even with A.I. you couldn't do what I do with A.I. There is art and creativity in my programming. Decades of experience in knowing how to respond to emergencies, how to solve performance problems, manage extremely large datasets. If I use A.I. on a project, it is a super power. If an inexperienced person used A.I. on that same project, it would be chaos. They would not know the right questions or directives to give, they would not know what to look for in a right answer.
Will it always be this way? Likely not. My current career of data architect will evolve into something else. I'll move further up the food chain.

"Though free to think and act, we are held together, like the stars in the firmament, with ties inseparable. These ties cannot be seen, but we can feel them. For ages this idea has been proclaimed in the consummately wise teachings of religion, probably not alone as a means of insuring peace and harmony among men, but as a deeply founded truth. The Buddhist expresses it in one way, the Christian in another, but both say the same: We are all one."
