Here is a thread for the Book Ones that I have out so far! ๐
I agree with this in principle, but it kind of sounds like an HR notification. Here's my version:
"I thought we were going to eat each other up last night, but we didn't. Was it because of the wedding, or do we need to fix something?"
โI was hoping to have sex tonight and I guess Iโm just a bit disappointed. Iโve noticed a dip in our affection and intimacy, is there anything I can do to help that or is there something youโd like to talk throughโ โ
Healthy! Communicating! Respectful!
โBut itโs my birthday! So what if youโre tired! Why canโt you just do it for me! You donโt love me! No one cares about me! We havenโt had sex in four days! Iโm going to the gym! Guess Iโll finish myself off as usual!โ โ
Unhealthy! Self centred! Lacking empathy!
Just in case people don't know what I'm talking about, it's this.
This is not a form of abuse against men. Use your words.

I think that goes back to a not so old adage: If you have to say that you are, you're not.
By the way, are you referring to the idea of feeling safe when you talk about actual Doms?
Men obsessed with submission are
a) not dominant
b) PISSED they're not dominant
c) so desperate for female company that they let their wives control them
Welcome to the plight of many men: their lives are controlled by by a woman, and they're incredibly angry about it.
Rather then grow a backbone, they repeat Bible verses about women's obedience as though this will magically make them wear the pants.
Meanwhile, actual male Doms don't behave like this. Nor do men who aren't Doms but don't mind that!
Even Christian men who think men should lead & women should submit tend to focus on how a man should lead BEFORE addressing a woman's submission (because duh. the leader leads lol).
They don't just harp on about bitchy women because they have enough self-respect to not marry or stay with a woman who doesn't respect them ๐คทโโ๏ธ
So ignore guys like who talk like this. They're announcing they have no control over their own lives, so why listen to what they have to say at all?
I generally agree, but it depends on what you mean by "submission."
If it's not a very kinky lifestyle choice that certain women are interested in, it often comes with a shit ton of pointless, conservative, and misogynistic bullshit.
I genuinely think a time will come when many women will regret supporting the version of feminism being glorified today.
And Iโm not talking about equal rights, opportunities, or financial independence.
Iโm talking about pseudo-feminism that teaches women they donโt need a man, compromising is weakness, making sacrifices is losing yourself, and that earning money means you should never have to adjust for anyone.
Where respecting your husband is called submission, putting effort into a relationship is considered desperate, and walking away is celebrated more than working things out.
And I think many women will realise how damaging this mindset was, perhaps in their late thirties or forties, when they look back and understand that they were taught to see partnership as a burden rather than something worth building.
I genuinely believe that day is not very far away.
The Tech Bro Oligarchs are going to radicalize people into socialism just because of how fucking stupid they are.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says itโs โquite terribleโ that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own PCs instead of being used in data centers.
โEveryone have a bunch of the worldโs limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer. And be used 5% of the time,โ
He argues that cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally.
This year has been fucking awful for the sheer loss of icons.
A lot of actors are lucky enough to have one iconic character to their name. Patrick Stewart got two, decades on the stage, and everything in between.
RIP, you absolute legend.
BREAKING: Patrick Stewart, the beloved actor best known for his iconic roles as Jean-Luc Picard in โStar Trekโ and Professor X in โX-Menโ, dies at 86. nbcnews.to/4swhqWR
Nah. It's a sign that the Republicans fucked the country. Again.
Virtually every time that conservatives are entrusted with power, something goes horrifically wrong, and the Democrats have to clean up the fucking mess.
I don't know why this post is making the rounds again, but it is ABSOLUTELY an insult.
"Hey, you know that time in your life as a man where you struggled with validation issues in a way that most women never will? Yeah, I wouldn't have picked you either."
That makes sense when you consider that the American Right literally does not believe in the foundational principles of the nation.
What plastic surgeon told Jennifer Lawrence to do this to herself? She looked fine before! Hot, even!
Hey, hey, hey! @realDonaldTrump is just miming men who make tons of money and like it rough in the ass down in Soho!
I think that @mattyglesias has a point here, but he's missing out on what came after.
1960s America wanted "moderate enforcement" of civil rights, but LBJ went aggressive because the South was full of shit. That plus racist incidents in the North let Nixon squeak by in 1968.
โThe Matthew Yglesias of 1963 would have been telling [JFK and LBJ] donโt touch this civil rights bill. Itโs unpopular.โ
I thought this was one of the more fascinating and important exchanges with @mattyglesias, where I challenged him on how far politicians should defer to polls on huge moral issues, and he pushed back on my analogy.

Mehdi conflates bill approval with protest approval. "This civil rights bill" was popular in '63. It had +16 approval (54-38) by Aug. '63 & +30 (61-31) in Jan. '64 before its June passage. Desegregation was generally popular w/ >+30 support for SCOTUS anti-segregation rulings

It's important to remember that social media didn't really exist during the prequel era. Most of the immediate reaction came from movie critics who didn't really know what George Lucas was going for.
Natalie Portman says STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE was one of her earliest lessons in failure.
โI had lucky early experiences of failureโฆI made Star Wars. I was 16, and that got murdered. It was a huge success financially, but all of it was, โThey ruined the franchise. None of them can act. They all suckโฆโ I think it was an amazing early lesson in how to read really bad things about yourself and then be able to be like, โIโm going to make another one. Iโm going to show them. I donโt remember talking to anyone about it. I didnโt want to show anyone that I was hurt or anything.โ
