🗣️✨⚽️ @FOXSportsArg: “We are explaining here with pure arguments why Lionel Messi should be the clear winner of Ballon d’Or by recent logic 1️⃣ “In 1998, Zinedine Zidane won the Ballon d’Or while being the leader of France scoring two goals in final, his only two title were World Cup and Serie A in that season. He won it against Davor Suker, and what Davor did in 1998? He won Champions League with Real Madrid and qualified to the semi final of World Cup, while being the top scorer of the tournament and who won the Ballon d’Or? Zinedine Zidane, why? Because he won the World Cup being a leader. There were no complaints. 2️⃣ “Let’s follow in 2002, in 2002 World Cup was won by Brazil and Champions League by Real Madrid, Roberto Carlos won both, but was he the winner of Ballon d’Or? No, he was the second. Who won it? Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldo who played 16(!) games with Inter whole season while scoring 7 goals, Carlos played 60 games, but Ballon d’Or went to Nazario? Why? Because he won the World Cup being the leader of Brazil. 3️⃣ “In 2006, Ronaldinho had a season of his life, he won the Champions League with Barça while performing with pure greatness, but he was second in Ballon d’Or? Who was the first? Cannavaro, yes, Cannavaro who was relegated in the same season with Juventus, and why? Because he won the World Cup while being the leader. “And now we have Messi who had one of the greatest World Cup campaigns of all time being 36 years old, scoring brace in the final, being the World Cup MVP and having like more than 50 goals + assists this season, I think there’s no doubt.”
