BREAKING: @RepAndreCarson releases statement on reports that the DOJ will send election monitors to Marion and Lake Counties:
@FOX59 | @CBS4Indy
Out of 92 counties in Indiana, Trump’s DOJ has chosen 2 counties with the largest populations of Democratic voters and Black and Hispanic voters to subject to “election monitoring.”
It’s no coincidence. It’s also no coincidence that it comes just weeks before an election, when Trump has record low poll numbers. It follows multiple, illegal attempts to change election procedures for his benefit, from a president who still maintains the 2020 election was stolen.
Our elections in Marion County are still run by the clerk, who is elected by Marion County voters.
I’m urging everyone to vote as soon as possible. You can vote early at the City-County Building now or at additional locations starting this weekend, which can be found at vote.indy.gov.
There are so many threats to our right to vote because of how powerful our vote is. Make your voice heard. Vote now.

Knox County Clerk David Shelton announces intention to work with @BeauBayh to audit the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office if Bayh wins:
“I care deeply about the proper use of taxpayer resources in our state. The apparent lack of regard for any ethics in this office has troubled me for years. I remain a proud Republican, and this is not an endorsement of Beau’s campaign, but I welcome his commitment to conducting an independent audit of this office. If the Republican candidate would commit to the same pledge, I would be happy to join him in the effort.”

.@BeauBayh announces intention to partner with Knox County Clerk David Shelton to help audit the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office if he wins:
“Since the day we launched this campaign, I have made a clear promise to Hoosiers - I will conduct an independent audit of the Secretary of State’s office to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.
“Hoosiers deserve answers about the spending under the current Secretary, including luxury SUVs, hiring relatives, millions of dollars in no-bid contracts awarded to campaign donors, and unexplained foreign travel. That is why, before Election Day, I want Hoosiers to know exactly how I intend to deliver on this promise.
“Today, I am announcing that I plan to work with Republican Knox County Clerk, David Shelton, to oversee this effort. David will assist in developing requests for proposals, reviewing bids and findings, and recommending next steps to address potential wasteful spending.
“David is the right person for this job because, as a proud Republican, he raised concerns about the misuse of taxpayer resources in the Secretary of State’s office before it became politically expedient. His willingness to advocate for the taxpayer in the face of partisan pressure is exactly the kind of leadership Hoosiers deserve.
“This audit must be independent, transparent, and guided by facts, not politics. Bringing a respected Republican into this process sends a clear message - protecting Hoosier taxpayers is not a partisan issue.”

.@GregforIndiana campaign responds to David Shelton filing an amicus brief in Ballard’s lawsuit against the Indiana Election Commission:
“Mr. Shelton and I are both asking for the same thing - the Indiana Election Commission to do its job. The Commission has a duty assigned by law to decide campaign finance complaints - and the clock is running out to do that before the election. Early voting has already begun and voters deserve to have the information about whether the candidates on the ballot are in violation of the law or in compliance.”
