.@GeorgeMonbiot's powerful appeal to Green, Labour and Lib Dem supporters to unite behind whichever progressive candidate is best-placed to defeat the Conservatives. Let's push this corrupted Tory party into 3rd place, denying it the privileges of the official opposition.

Wow - we asked 60+ people in Totnes yesterday to score the Gov's performance in 5 key areas. What an utterly shocking indictment!

This morning Conservative MP and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Mel Stride said that GPs will no longer determine whether a patient gets a sick note, and that WorkWell will make the assessment. Who is WorkWell? After a quick search online: ➡️ WorkWell is a series of partnerships across the country delivering a service ➡️ They will evaluate 59,000 disabled people, and people with health conditions ➡️ £57 million will be allocated to 15 areas ➡️ One example of this is a contract issued by Greater Manchester Health Authority for a 2 month contract. It was given to the firm PWC for £91k This model will be replicated across the country So instead of your GP determining whether you, their patient, are well enough to work, or not. Various private firms will be paid to make these assessments One of the reasons why the government is doing is this is because its cheaper to hire external assessors than it is to hire more GPs. Another, is that it's cheaper to do this performative role than it is to address the underlying issues of long waiting lists on the NHS. 14 years of austerity have decimated the NHS, covid didn't help, nor did Brexit, and instead of having a plan that will actually work to bring people back to better health, time and money is wasted on these types of initiatives to give the impression that something is being done, when in reality, the cause for the hardships and difficulties facing many people are a result of the 14 years of Conservative party policies and plans.

Govt. are too busy concentrating on their pet dog whistle policies to be bothered with petty issues like ensuring workers' rights are respected. The sooner they're out the better. See how we're preventing 'safe seat' tories winning at the GE. politicalprimary.org
Modern day vampires P&O Ferries CEO collected £508k pay packet. His workers get £4.87 an hour. and says he couldn't live on it. In 2022, P&O sacked 800 workers, knowingly violated employment law. Face no action from UK govt. Why is P&O allowed to trade? bbc.co.uk/articles/ceq3pw038…

Once the election is called, there's only just over 2.5 weeks to get registered (12 working day deadline out of 5 weeks). The Gov wants to prevent as many young people voting as possible. Don't let them. 🗳️REGISTER NOW🗳️ Our guide: southdevonprimary.org/regist… electoralcommission.org.uk/g…

“Strangely symbolic she’s trying to push a leaflet through a closed letterbox with one hand.” 😂😂
No blue rosette. The word ‘Conservative’ nowhere to be seen. It’s almost as if she’s embarrassed. Strangely symbolic she’s trying to push a leaflet through a closed letterbox with one hand.

8️⃣Enough! Under our rotten #FPTP voting system, @ClaireCoutinho is set to hold her seat, but if the community unites behind a single progressive candidate by running a Primary, she's history. @SDevonPrimary will help. 📧[email protected] politicalprimary.org

"Is there one thing you're taking from this ....?" "Hope!" How brilliant is that. It's what our supporters here feel too. It is so positive to be actually doing something about the unfair voting system instead of sitting back and accepting how rubbish it is! Follow & join!
After voting in the South Devon Primary, a Labour supporter told us he now had hope. @CarolineVoaden was chosen as the People's Champion with 78% of the votes. Let's be clever & vote together - there's so much more that unites us than divides us.

We're not accepting the status quo here in Wiltshire. Along with @EWiltsPrimary, @MelkDevPrimary will work hard to get the message out that voting together against the tory, regardless of individual party loyalties, is the way to get them out here. #GTTO melkshamdevizesprimary.org
