Not only is it completely unfair that the ASFCP was not re-scheduled when the amnesty was extended beyond October 30 until after the Supreme Court rules on the legality of the bans themselves - @Safety_Canada is lying in correspondence to ASFCP registrants as recently as a few days ago - email messages to ASFCP registrants falsely state that the amnesty will end on October 30.
False.
More lies.

Good to see his personal position hasn't changed.
Hopefully the Supreme Court will agree with the Safety Minister who told us all what he thought about the gun bans and 'buyback,' last year 👇👇👇

Well we've given 7 years for the gun bans to work. Who could have predicted this?
Turns out the Liberals themselves are the risk to public safety.

They want you to believe that if the advisory panel meets, they will stop mass shootings from happening.
These people don’t want public safety. They want to punish licensed gun owners.
Period 🇨🇦
Advisory panel set to advise minister @gary_srp on review of firearms classification including #SKS has yet to hold its first meeting - almost a year after Ottawa announced new panel: "PolySeSouvient said this week that instead of implementing a comprehensive ban on assault-style firearms and high-capacity magazines, 'the government keeps announcing new consultations and panels, and each one becomes another reason to postpone actual change. Lives are at stake. The government needs to stop consulting and start acting, before more people are killed in mass shootings.'” ctvnews.ca/politics/article/…

Gun control is often sold using misleading language like “assault-style,” or using tragic, but statistically rare shootings as justification, rather than where the majority of gun deaths happen (hint: not from mass shootings), or where crime guns come from (hint: not Canada). 🇨🇦

2.4 million licensed firearm owners.
Not a problem. Not a threat. Not the issue.
Hunters. Competitors. Precision shooters. Action shooters. Shotgun athletes. Hand gunners. Long-range specialists.
Every discipline. One community that trains, gets licensed, and follows the law.
While politicians chase headlines and confiscation schemes, these are the people who actually show up — responsible, regulated, and Canadian.
This is the real picture of firearm ownership in this country.

I'm surprised that the antigun crew in Canada has not called for immediate bans and confiscations of any and all firearms that have any kind of stickers on them.
Sticker-assault-style firearms have no place in the hands of Canada's 2,500,000 licensed firearm owners - and we now have proof that stickers placed on firearms makes them inherently more dangerous.
Tumbler Ridge killer decorated guns with transgender flag, chose ‘cute’ outfit for mass murder nationalpost.com/opinion/tum…
This is shocking...yet common - often the shooters were "known to police" - as in Nova Scotia as well.
Who paid the price - Canada's 2,500,000 licensed firearm owners had their legal property frozen and many of them had firearms banned and confiscated for unfair compensation...all in the false name of public safety.
Every event needs thorough, public, in-depth investigation and accountability for failures of our existing gun control framework, policing, etc.
Not hunts for false justifications to punish licensed owners.
RCMP now confirm they “were aware” of the Tumbler Ridge shooter before the massacre.
Aware of the warnings.
Aware of the weapons concerns. Aware of the killer and now six children and two adults are dead.
What a catastrophic failure!

Isn't it weird that after every heinous crime committed with a firearm - legal or not - there is the inevitable call for more and more gun laws, restrictions, prohibitions and confiscation of legal firearms, only from licensed owners of course.
Even when these draconian measures are implemented...gun crime continues unabated.
It's as if none of these restrictions had any beneficial impact whatsoever - they are simply more attacks on licensed owners by those who despise the idea of firearm ownership.
Time for this nonsense to end - use the extensive laws we have and go after criminals instead.
Once again, the Gun Control Lobby is displaying a complete lack of understanding of already existing Canadian gun laws.
"The group is asking Ottawa... to ban any part that could make a weapon more deadly,"
That is already a law in Canada. That has been a law for many decades now. All bump stocks, switches, FRT's, auto-sears, FA conversion kits, or anything else you can dream up - it's all banned and has been banned for decades.
This is far from the first time they've advocated for new laws which are already the law. All they have is rhetoric. They have no idea what they're talking about and never have.

I'm surprised that the anti-gun crew has not called for an immeddiate ban and mass confiscation of a firearm that has been adorned with a sticker (of any type) - as if that somehow makes my legal firearm more dangerous.
Same goes for the model of a firearm - my SKS is no more dangerous to public safety than it was if someone else used another SKS in a crime.
The seven women and children slaughtered in February in Tumbler Ridge, Canada by a trans shooter were literally killed at the barrel of trans pride, we are now learning through American court filings.
Canadian authorities and officials immediately sought to downplay or bury information about the trans angle to the school mass sh—ting in British Columbia. They continue to refer to the deceased killer as a female.
Now we know why.
American federal officials have just charged a trans alleged co-conspirator in Washington state. Photos killer Jesse “Jess” Rootselaar sent new alleged co-conspirator James Cody “Melody” Bryant show that trans was everything to the two.
The guns the trans killer used to slaughter seven women and children were decorated with trans pride symbols in images sent to a person (allegedly “Melody” Bryant) who helped him prepare for the attack.

Regarding the Liberal legal firearm confiscation progam - the so-called ASFCP...
...has anyone considered the tax treatment of any compensation paid?
One would think that you basically had sold your firearm to the government...but no - the fine print of the funding agreement is that you are being paid in recognition of your contribution to public safety - so basically an honorarium.
Does anyone know whether the government will issue tax slips for these payments? You could have your compensation taxed back at your marginal tax rate - anywhere from 30-53% gone.
Don't declare your "income" - that's tax evasion, and that's illegal.
Yet another reason to consider withdrawing from the ill-conceived ASFCP.
