E la tregua sulle raffinerie russe è ufficialmente finita! Obiezioni? Nessuna!
Ukrainian attack drones hit Russia’s Ufa Oil refinery moments ago, setting the facility ablaze.

Only hours after I raised my suspicion that the "promised" 500 Patriot missiles might never arrive or the very least late, Ukraine's President Zelenskyy proved my point. "Only in a few years", or better never, more than enough time for Trump to conclude whatever corrupt business he wants to finish with Putin, before he has to exit the White House. Therefore, this ploy laid out by Trump is not worth the paper on which this is written on. It only serves to draw Pro-Ukrainian crowd to vote Republican, a very transparent and most dishonest gambit. It is the same ploy he made when he "promised" to release the Epstein files, or to end the "forever wars" like in Iran. It will never happen under Trump and in reference to Iran it will escalate shortly after the midterms. A new episode in the war in Iran will make gas prices even more unaffordable than ever, something Putin is craving for and which underlines especially why both, Trump and Putin, have taken a special interest in Alaska. Their Anchorage meeting last year where they talked about Ukraine was a facade. They and especially Trump are after the oil resources in the region. We are getting scammed on a global scale and together with the tech-bro oligarchy in the USA, where people like Sam Altman berates us for having personal computers and make them unaffordable, we are losing more than just money. We are losing very freedom itself, so they can manufacture the future they want and where it is only them whose word count.

Chiaramente, i "super-ricchi", giusto?

Over the last three years a new majority of judges was duly elected by parliament and demanded to be able to function. The outgoing president of the tribunal kept blocking them, The most senior judge of the new majority took charge of the tribunal premises and asked the police for protection. Our populist opposition is unfortunately refusing to accept its loss of control over the Tribunal. The democratically elected government will continue to uphold the constitution.

The stand off around Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal is about restoring rule of law to an institution which had been politicised by the populist government which lost power in the election of 2023. Its president repeatedly broke the law by steering politically sensitive cases to hand-picked judges. It failed to pass its own budget,

You can always tell if a western ‘Russia expert’ ever lived in Russia and communicated with average Russians or not, she clearly did
Historian Sarah Paine: When Putin dies, there's no democratic election. It's a free-for-all. Nobody in his network knows who takes over, and many Russians have military training, so civil war is possible. Recovery might take 10 years, a number I'm making up. 1/

UPDATE!! The U.S. Patriot PAC-3 announcement comes with a major caveat: these are new missiles, with deliveries not expected until after 2030, sources tell me. It does little to address Ukraine’s urgent interceptor shortage ahead of winter 1/3
BREAKING!!! State Department has approved a possible $2.1 billion sale of 500 Patriot PAC-3 MSE missiles to Ukraine. The deal will be funded entirely by allies and partners, including Canada, Germany and Norway — with no U.S. taxpayer funds involved.

On #Poland: I asked Deputy Prime Minister @sikorskiradek at the #G20 meeting in Atlanta this afternoon about what's going on with the police entering the top court and the suspension of the chief justice. "The constitutional tribunal was politicized under the previous government, and now it has a majority elected by the new parliament in the last three years, and yet the outgoing president was not convening the council of the tribunal -- as a result of which, they were not able to pass even their own budget for next year. So, what is happening has the purpose of allowing the majority of duly elected judges to make the tribunal function again." Me: "And the police presence was necessary?" Sirokski: "Well, the eldest of the newly elected judges felt that because there was demonstrators blocking the building, she asked for personal protection, just to make sure that the due process can take place."

Poland in 2026. A house divided. In 2023, PIS government lost power after 8 years. Eight years of changes which if called controversial would be an understatement, encompassing all areas of life. One of them is the chief of Constitutional Order - the Constitutional Tribunal. 🧵

Hmm, should I do a thread? Normally I don't comment on the Polish stuff other than usual shitposting, but some signalled an interest in reading my take. And I happen to know quite a bit, to the surprise of noone because I live here. Unless someone still is surprised by this fact.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Ukraine of 500 PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missiles, plus associated equipment and services, for an estimated cost of $2.1 billion. Fiancing will be provided by Canada, Germany and Norway via JUMPSTAR, and Ukrainian national funds from the EU's Ukraine Support Loan. The prime contractor would be Lockheed Martin.
