Made it to DC for that one and it was a perfect storm of fun Really great two way guard play and 15 was comfortably the best kid in the gym. Adult performance from Elmarko. Looks like a Kentucky / Kansas backcout works If u get that Chol for 15 min every night, ur dancing

Peavy really landed in a perfect place to play himself into a long career OKC will likely face future roster crunches with $ and need to continuously produce cheap role guys and he has a serious trait (defense) that can actually survive in a playoff series Belongs on a winner
Peavy has clampersssss

Hilarious that we’re gonna get a wave of injunctions this week - some eligible and some ineligible - and there’s not going to be a blanket decision on 5 in 5s while we’re playing games NCAA will say they care for making things “fair” and this is about as unbalancing as it gets

I don’t even care one way or the other - if they were all good to go or all done. But how are we to judge tournament resumes if rosters change as season progresses? How within one conference can Hall and Vince be good - but NJ, Pinion, and Simpson not?

Nearly two hour BIG EAST preview ⬇️ Much we’ll be wrong about but a fun podcast to do. League is better and deeper than it has been in recent years. There’s a lot of opportunity for programs that have stumbled to reclaim their spot in the NCAAs Have a listen!
It’s time ⏲️ On the eve of Year four, we've got your massive Big East Preview. We’ve said “make or break” before. This time we mean it. New pod: the full Big East preview. All 11 teams tiered out, where Georgetown actually fits, and our award picks and final standings.🎙️ youtu.be/vSkMfTfAwv4

Watched Georgetown-GW in the background a few weeks ago but until I uploaded their exhibition stats just now, I hadn't realized how nice a pair of games they had (low sample stats-wise!!) hoop-explorer.com/OnOffAnaly… cc @Footahh

Sobering clarity on what it actually takes financially to optimize success Georgetown listed as Tier 4 ($12-15M), which Norlander has 32-49th in the country. $15M for bubble-ish rosters I’d imagine it’s more like a tier 6 roster if Vince/NJ eligibility goes bad
A deep dive with @MattNorlander into how much each high-major basketball roster costs. It ranges from $5 million to over $25 million. The top dawgs: Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, UNC, St. John's, Tennessee, Texas and Texas Tech cbssports.com/college-basket…

I think G’Town actually did well this offseason to find the $ and build a solid roster, but the sport has just gotten so expensive to spend your way to immediate (and mostly guaranteed) success $15M in either of Cooley’s first 2 years would have bought a roster at top of sport

Charted the two exhibitions (small sample size alert) 🐶 Great stuff from the PG 🐶 Caleb and Gabe both solid off bench The rim D wasn’t great and although 0.99 PPP against over 2 games was solid, I didn’t love the shot diet they forced (106 of 120 opp. shots at rim or from 3)

Gabe really was a lovely revelation in the GW game. Rebounded and was a HUGE plus when he got to play off-ball next to Lowe. I don’t know if he feels comfortable initiating things on his own, but consistently made the right reads (and shots) in moments where he received a pass

I’m so pleased by Josiah Parker. Number 2 on my trust meter rn. Does a lot on a basketball court at a high level. This team needs his rebounding, finishing, and ability to create. Such a Cooley fit Played 37 defensive possessions with Vince vs GW, allowing 33 pts (0.89 PPP)

GEORGETOWN (exhibition) GAMEDAY: 6:00 pm ET Monumental / ESPN+ Hoyas get a GW team that should be towards top of A-10. Should be deep and have athleticism/length comparable to a high major outfit Should be a good test

Some things that might be flying under the radar regarding Josiah are passing and basketball IQ are very high on this kid. You can run some offense through him. You saw a glimpse of this at the beginning of the second half after Wake's mini run.

Unfortunately, a major truth that’s hampered the program - essentially making their conference schedule harder than their opponents - for a decade plus now
Pitino on Georgetown: "They're void of something that the rest of us have, and that's a strong home court advantage."

This also isn’t a slight against students or alumni. It’s a 20K capacity arena 20-40 minutes away from campus for a school that (1) only has 7500 undergrads and (2) has an enormous percentage of its alumni base in other cities (primarily NYC) I appreciate anyone trying to go
