Homologues of the Chlamydia trachomatis and Chlamydia muridarum inclusion membrane protein IncS are interchangeable for early development but not for inclusion stability in the late developmental cycle journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128… #mSphere @ASMicrobiology

ALT Three-dimensional confocal micrographs of HeLa cells expressing CFP-STIM1, CFP-VAPA, or CFP-CERT (blue) infected for 24 h with a C. trachomatis strain expressing mCherry constitutively (red) and IncSCt-3×FLAG (yellow) under the control of an aTc-inducible promoter, in the absence (−aTc) or the presence (+aTc) of aTc. Scale bar, 5 μm.

Congratulations to the newly-minted Dr. Walker @ForrestCWalker, who gave a brilliant thesis defense yesterday!!! Somehow managed to simultaneously study the involvement of IFNs in both regulation of viral dissemination and microbiota-mediated maintenance of hematopoiesis
