First Episcopal Mass of Bishop Michael Mary today in the Oratory of Our Lady of Casalibus on Papa Stronsay. The stones you see in it's walls were rebuilt from the 12th century church of St Nicholas during the 1800s. For how many centuries were Masses celebrated within these walls.

Many thanks to our Councillor for the North Isles Ward for Orkney, Dr Stephen Clackson who represented the secular authority at yesterday's consecration. Amidst the normal things of his life of caring for the people of 13 inhabited Islands, (road maintenance, vertical gardening and the fuel price featuring besides us) Dr Clackson graced us with his kind and respectful attendance.
