Today, @EPA announced decisions on 34 petitions from small refineries seeking exemptions (SREs) from tepid 2025 #RFS volumes. At the same time, EPA announced its intention to finalize a supplemental rule before the end of October to ensure that the RINs exempted today are restored to 2026 and 2027 RFS volumes. We thank @POTUS and congressional champions including @ChuckGrassley, @SenJoniErnst and @RepAshleyHinson for working to ensure that RFS exemptions don’t come at the expense of clean fuel producers and farmers. The U.S. #biodiesel and #renewablediesel industry has been running at a record pace, increasing capacity utilization from 55% last year to above 80% in recent months. @USEPA's historic #RFS volumes are driving new investments and economic opportunity across rural communities and providing American farmers a valuable domestic market at a time when overseas markets are unreliable. Right now, biodiesel is providing consumers a price break at the pump (afdc.energy.gov/fuels/prices). If @Energy and @USEPA change the rules on small refinery exemptions, the #cleanfuels industry's growing contribution to America's energy dominance will be lost.
