Nichts.

Afuera!

Exner-Pirot on the Clean Fuel Standard (CFR): "There is an even more insidious aspect to the CFR. To meet their carbon intensity targets, many Canadian refiners blend biofuels into their petroleum products. But Canada is not self-sufficient in their production. More than half of Canada’s biofuels are imported, predominantly from the United States. Somehow, in the middle of a trade war and an energy crisis, it has gone unnoticed that Canada — the aspiring energy superpower — has artificially made itself dependent on the United States for fuel. The vulnerability was brutally exposed with U.S. President Donald Trump’s diesel export ban threat, when refiners were scrambling to find out if renewable diesel bound for Canada would be caught in the net. It is a favourite line of the Carney government that, amidst geopolitical rupture and trade disruption, “Canada is focused on what we can control.” The CFR is at the top of the list of self-harming, expensive and distortive policies that Canada controls, and has every interest in rolling back." @ExnerPirot

Scrap the Paris temperature targets, says @RogerPielkeJr. They don’t tell us which policies work. Yet households and businesses pay the price of those policies. And their patience has limits. Ever-higher energy bills. Industry moving abroad. European leaders should not be surprised when the yellow vests return. Pielke also sees expensive energy as a driver of the political upheaval across many countries. His “iron law”: when climate policy collides with the economy, the economy wins. A temperature target or a deadline for “net zero” won’t change that. His alternative: technological progress that cuts emissions AND increases prosperity. In conversation with @marcelcrok, Pielke explains why climate policy needs a rethink — and why he is finally optimistic. Watch the full interview: youtu.be/QFrAGK_OEXk

.@ABDanielleSmith @PremierScottMoe @taxpayerDOTcom Hundreds of failing heat pumps in Germany!!!

"A binding green taxonomy is also a prerequisite to better ties to Europe. It is hard to imagine that the deeper economic and financial integration of Canada and the EU that Carney so eagerly promotes is possible without a merging of taxonomies. Unless both economies can agree on the same baseline for investment requirements and restrictions, they will never find common ground. The green taxonomy can thus be seen as an indicator of the Carney government’s future plans. If the end goal is still net-zero 2050, then a green taxonomy remains a crucial step in that process. The farther it progresses, the closer we get to Euro-style stagnation and decline. Canada can either open itself for business or commit to a net-zero future. It can’t do both." @InvestNowOrg

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warns Europe is falling dangerously behind America economically… and blames anti-business, anti-investment, and anti-innovation policies. 🇺🇸🇪🇺 “If you don’t believe me, go to Europe, folks. Europe used to have a GDP per person of 90% of America’s. It’s now 65%. It’s on its way to 50%. That will jeopardize the health of Europe itself over time. And it’s all anti-business, anti-investment, anti-innovation. They kind of know it. If they don’t fix it—and we should help them fix it, because Europe matters—it’s really bad for the Western world, too. We should do it wisely.” Europe shift over the past three decades has proven decimating for their economy. Aging population forces mass immigration in order to maintain adequate growth. Crazy regulation and bureaucracy slows innovation and investment… forcing the economy further down. At the same time, the United States has pulled ahead exponentially and will continue to do so. Europe is struggling.

"The targets the UK has pledged for decarbonisation are highly unlikely to be achieved." Earlier this year, we sat down with @RogerPielkeJr. He told us that the realities of our energy system do not allow for decarbonisation by 2050. "They'll have to fudge the numbers, or they'll have to change the law."

Under the last administration, billions of dollars went out the door at @ENERGY. We couldn’t find a SINGLE evaluation of cost impact. Money flowed to companies decarbonizing mac and cheese—not to projects lowering costs for Americans or improving grid reliability. Thanks to @POTUS, that has ended.

El Hierro is the dramatic falsification of the 100% renewable myth. Stop wasting hard earned tax payer monies into the ditch hoping for dreams that are just dogmas. Large scale wind turbines, especially offshore, are not a rational solution. Nuclear reactors & dense energy are.
Have policymakers in the EU, the UK and US states never heard of El Hierro? A small island with 11,000 residents and plenty of wind. An ideal testing ground for the promise of 100% renewable electricity, before making millions of people depend on it. They installed wind turbines with more than twice the island’s average electricity demand in capacity, plus pumped hydro storage. Yet in 2025, this system supplied just 44% of its electricity. Diesel supplied the rest. @mhtncontrarian explains why: during prolonged periods of low wind, the upper reservoir empties. Then the diesel generators have to take over. If this setup cannot deliver on its promise on a small, windy island, why are politicians so confident it will work on a vastly larger scale? They keep pushing ahead, with millions of people’s electricity supply at stake.

Across the rich world, nearly a quarter of all development aid now goes to climate projects. The core problem is opportunity cost. Every dollar subsidizing solar panels or carbon accounting is a dollar not spent on schools, maternal health or clean water. financialpost.com/opinion/op…

Never listen when they tell you wind/solar/electrification will be cheaper and more affordable. Look at the UK!!!
Net zero added £140.3bn to Britain's electricity bills in 2002–24: £2,286 for the average household. Modelled, in 2024 prices. Nobody official counts it. Parliament should require a yearly statement, with data anyone can check. richardlyon.substack.com/p/n…

.@ABDanielleSmith @PremierScottMoe @OSFIBSIF_leader @OSFICanada via @jackprandelli For years "stranded assets" was a phrase used about oil. Refineries, tankers and oil fields were the things that would be left behind, the money went where the growth was. In 2026 the phrase has changed sides. The assets that were going to be stranded are the ones collecting the cash and the assets that were the future are the ones that a chief executive with $40 billion of fresh debt expects to be left half built. That is the inversion this article is about and it comes with a question for anyone whose wealth was made in technology this decade: not whether to leave, but whether to let some of it work where the cash is. The numbers decide which fields did better, so I initially did my researches for the fields rather than the stocks. The US refiners' index has returned 152% this year, the tanker owners' index 100%, Canadian energy 61%, the S&P 500 energy sector 55% and oil services 30%. The Nasdaq 100 has returned 15% and the Magnificent 7 6.5%. Since 2 March, the first trading day of the Iran war, the refiners are up 98% and the Nasdaq 16%. The one fossil field that lost is the Korean shipbuilders, down 28%, and the one tech field that lost is the renters of compute: CoreWeave is down 46% from its 8 September high. themerchantsnews.substack.co…

ON THIS DAY IN WEATHER DISASTER HISTORY — OCTOBER 26 Before smartphones. Before viral videos. Before everyone carried a camera. 🌊 1859 — BRITISH ISLES: The Royal Charter Storm devastates the coast. Approximately 800 dead and 133 ships lost. One of Britain's worst maritime weather disasters. 🌀 1865 — ATLANTIC COAST: A hurricane reportedly sinks the USS Mobile off Georgia, sending the ship and its cargo to the ocean floor. 🌀 1877 — FLORIDA: A late-October tropical storm strikes Florida's Gulf Coast, with winds estimated near 45 mph. 🥶 1919 — NORTHERN PLAINS: An extraordinary October cold outbreak sends temperatures below zero across the Dakotas and Minnesota. Miller, South Dakota, plunges to −10°F! 🌀 1952 — WESTERN PACIFIC: Super Typhoon Wilma rages with winds around 160 mph. A U.S. military weather reconnaissance aircraft disappears into the storm. Five events. Nearly a century of weather history. What didn't exist was a camera in every pocket broadcasting every disaster around the planet. History didn't start with smartphones. Neither did severe weather. REAL EVENTS. REAL HISTORY. A DAILY CURE FOR WEATHER AMNESIA.
