Heads up, Michigan.
Gun owners have momentum right now. Gun control is getting shut down in court, and the DOJ is suing state after state over unconstitutional regulations.
One bad election and we could lose all of it. Maybe more.
Virginia elected Abigail Spanberger in 2025. A few months later, she signed an “assault weapons” ban.
In Massachusetts, gun owners gathered enough signatures to freeze Maura Healey’s gun law until people could vote on it. So she declared an emergency and enforced it anyway.
There’s no such thing as a moderate Democrat on guns. They’ll ban whatever they can get away with, and if you push back, they’ll break the rules to keep it.
Midterms are next week. Every race on the ballot is another shot at doing the same thing to you.

Michigan citizens will vote on Proposal 2 next week and it is a mess.
From the @MackinacCenter op-ed in the @WSJopinion: wsj.com/opinion/michigans-pr…
[T]he ballot initiative goes much further than limiting campaign contributions or forcing corporate disclosures. It also creates a new category of political speech—“electioneering communications”—that would be tightly regulated by state authorities. This term is defined as public communication within 100 days of a general election or 30 days of a primary or special election that is “targeted to the relevant electorate,” and “references a clearly identifiable candidate.” Anyone who issues such communications and spends more than $5,000 doing so in a calendar year must file a detailed spending report with the Michigan secretary of state.
This language is so broad that it could cover news outlets and independent journalists like me. State law exempts newspapers and other traditional media from campaign expenditure reporting requirements for the content they publish “in the regular course of publication or broadcasting.” But there is no clear exemption for media included in Proposal 2’s definition of “electioneering communication.”
The requirements would also likely apply to independent journalists using platforms like podcasts and blogs. I could be subject to an enormous burden if I want to keep interviewing or even talking about candidates for office. What’s more, the state’s definition of “candidate” is so broad that the initiative would cover anyone in office who isn’t term-limited, regardless of whether he is up for re-election in the current cycle.

@GLGunRights They brought the Hogg boy out….. The attacks on 2A in Michigan if they win are going to be brutal.
Michigan, we find ourselves at a crossroads. Our gun rights are teetering on a knife's edge.
Will we find ourselves fighting more radical gun control like we did when the Democrats took complete control back in 2023, or will we have the opportunity to work on rolling back more than a hundred years of anti-gun restrictions?
It's not going to happen by chance, it requires all of us to remain vigilant and to get others in this fight as well.

Michigan...get your act together.
THE ATF DOESN’T WANT YOUR SUPPRESSOR PAPERWORK ANYMORE.
SO WHY DOES YOUR STATE?
14 states still tie your suppressor to it. The ATF quit enforcing registration for suppressors and short-barreled rifles nationwide on Oct. 9, but in these states, state law only allows a suppressor if it’s registered under the NFA. Skip the Form 4 and you can still land in legal trouble at home.
Mississippi AG Lynn Fitch fixed it for suppressors in three days. Every AG in those 14 states can do the same.

Abdul El-Sayed hid his videos calling for the abolition of gun rights in America.
El-Sayed advocated for replacing the Second Amendment in a 2023 video he later hid.
So the gun grabbers at Giffords PAC quickly endorsed him for the U.S. Senate.
Read more about El-Sayed’s anti-gun record in the article linked below.

Prop 2 will make it more difficult for Great Lakes Gun Rights to hold anti-gun politicians accountable.
“Michigan voters are being sold a false bill of goods that promises the impossible — to remove money from politics — while imposing unworkable rules on basic political speech,” Heather Lauer, chief executive officer of People United for Privacy Foundation, wrote in an email to CapCon.

The contrast between Democrat Eli Savit and Republican Doug Lloyd in the AG race coud not be more clear.
Savit is a anti-gun Ann Arbor Leftist. Lloyd has pledged to protect the Second Amendment rights of Michiganders.
Democrat Eli Savit is just as radical — if not more radical — than Nessel.
Savit is the Washtenaw County (the home of Ann Arbor) prosecutor. He supports Michigan’s 2023 package: “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation, universal permit-to-purchase scheme, and mandatory storage.
He has already called for statewide bans on bump stocks and “ghost guns.” He is endorsed by Giffords and Everytown for Gun Safety. Put him in Nessel’s seat and he will not just defend the 2023 laws. He will use the office to push the next round.
