Just got a blocked number call with a fake Travis County sheriff office call scam. I had a missed jury duty summons. "Yeah I don't have one and this is a scam." Ok fake cowboy caller said, and hung up. Make your parents aware people.

Today is the first day of early voting. Vote yes on prop I, the letter I. The others are no good. Prop I will allow a real audit of the waste the city does. The homeless grifting. The make believe graffiti abatement program.
The endless studies and consultants that mean the spending at city hall has skyrocketed since covid. I want to keep prices as low as I can. Tracking where the money goes is a key part of that!

Didn't the City Council already approve an audit?
Yes. In February 2026, the council approved an efficiency assessment by ordinance, and that work has started. The council can change an ordinance. Only Austin voters can change the City Charter. Prop I puts three requirements in the charter: a completed review before any tax rate increase election, a reviewer who commits to finding savings greater than its fee, and a new review at least every five years.

Is there a homeless October surprise out there? He had no idea who to vote for. This guy had a camp out back for about a year that took forever for the city to deal with.
