So how are you today, @AlboMP @SenatorWong? Safely tucked up somewhere pretending to care about women, children, people in need and international law? Got plenty to eat? Drink? No Israelis trying to snipe you or bomb you? How lucky can you get. #auspol #YouBelongInTheHague

Australians are having to choose between food and soap or toothpaste. We can do better than this as a country. We're a wealthy country. This about choices - like deciding not to have a windfall profits tax to get a return for 🇦🇺 during an energy crisis, or not getting a return on our gas exports. That's money that could go to dealing with root causes of cost of living - housing, energy costs and transport. smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

Prof. Richard Wolff: ‘Russia🇷🇺 & China’s🇨🇳 goal was to be safely away from the DISINTEGRATION of the unipolar empire moment of the United States. They want to watch the United States IMPLODE on itself, unable to fight two wars at the same time. We are full of information in this country that one of the reasons Mr. Trump can't do what he would like to do in Iran is the US, doesn't have the munitions anymore. Well, that's another way of saying what every other empire that collapsed said in the final years of its collapse: it was overreaching. It was trying in too many ways to hold on to the empire against the resistance of too many people coming at them from too many directions. That's what Iran demonstrates now, in the most dramatic way. This relatively poor country that no one in the United States ever took seriously is in the position of blocking the American military from doing what nothing else in the United States can do, which is to bring them to heel. The Russians and the Chinese, but for sure the Chinese, their interest is: let's not get drawn into this, because it's an economic story. For the last 35 years, the economic growth of the GDP, the gross domestic product of China, was larger, two to three times larger than that of the United States. Therein, everything is understandable. They have time on their side. They've had it for the last 35 years, which is why they are the power they are now. The longer they can survive, the better the odds are getting that they will come through the decline of the Western Empire in a way that the Western Empire cannot do. And so I think what you're watching is you're watching the Chinese watching the West, and watching the West learn the lesson. Russia made the deal with China much earlier than the rest of them, and is going to be benefiting from it as it already is.’ Watch the full interview in the quoted post 👇 @profwolff

🇺🇸 8 DAYS UNTIL THE U.S. ELECTIONS Trump Is Offended Again… By Almost Everyone. Donald Trump says plenty of outrageous things in his speeches and social media posts. But over the past two days, he seems to have developed a new obsession: being offended. And the list of people who have hurt his feelings is growing. Here we go! 🔴 Trump is offended by the American media. Why? Because they failed to celebrate his latest imaginary victory: Denmark supposedly handing Greenland over to the United States. The tiny detail that Denmark never actually handed Greenland over to anyone doesn't seem to bother him. 🔴 Trump is offended by Americans struggling with high prices. His message? "They'll say, 'President Trump is bragging about all the money they're making while people are suffering at gas stations.' I don't care. We're making a damn fortune." Exactly the kind of message Republicans need eight days before an election, right? 🔴 Trump is offended by Fox News. Yes, even the conservative network isn't loyal enough for him anymore. He complains that Fox gives "too much airtime" to opponents of Republican candidates and does "almost nothing to help" Republicans win. Apparently, journalism is only acceptable when it serves his political interests. 🔴 Trump is offended by Barack Obama. Obama has joined the Democrats' final campaign push, drawing huge crowds. Trump responded by calling Obama an "extremely incompetent president" and accusing him of giving Iran billions of dollars and a path toward nuclear weapons. He also attacked a Democratic candidate Obama was campaigning for, describing him as a "jihadist" who hates Jews, Black people, Americans, and Trump himself. 🔴 Trump is offended by NBA legend LeBron James. The reason? James supposedly showed insufficient respect during the American national anthem. Trump declared: "LeBron James is disrespecting our country! I've said from the beginning that he's a terrible person, a complete disgrace." 🔴 Trump is offended by Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski. The Alaska senator criticized Trump's attempt to interfere with election results in her state. Trump responded by calling her "the worst Republican senator by far" and "a disgrace to Alaska and our country." Eight days before the elections, Trump appears to be fighting everyone: the media, voters, Fox News, Obama, LeBron James, and even members of his own party. Perhaps the real question isn't who offended Donald Trump today. It's whether American voters are finally getting tired of a president who treats every disagreement as a personal insult. 🇺🇸 Eight days to go. And the political circus is only getting louder.

US Big Tech corporations are spending a staggering $1 trillion this year, or 3% of GDP, on AI capital expenditure (capex), largely for data centers. China's tech companies are spending $123 billion on AI apex, which is just 0.6% of GDP. But China's AI models perform just as well as US models -- and China's are open-source and much cheaper, and are thus becoming more popular around the world. Keep in mind that China has 4 times the US population, but is spending 1/10th of what the US is spending on AI capex. It is obvious that US AI capex is way, way too high, and represents extreme malinvestment. This is because the US AI sector is in an enormous bubble.
Looking at these two graphic images, I can’t help but think of the tale of “The Tortoise and The Hare” when it comes to the race between China and the US to dominate AI. The US is still ahead, helped by its strong compute capabilities (ie access to all the chips it needs) and near-limitless access to capital. But Chinese models have been constantly tugging at their heels using a fraction of the spending. Growing worries about the ability of today’s AI capex to generate meaningful returns might result in delays in US models that allow their Chinese peers to overtake them in the final innings of the game. #OpenAI #Anthropic #Kimi #Qwen4 $BABA $SPCX $GOOGL $META $NVDA

A growing number of Australians want to see AI regulated and have concerns about data centres, especially when it comes to energy & water use. The govt has lost years dithering on this policy and telling us existing regulations were adequate. It’s critical we protect communities & get long-term benefit from AI and any data centres built here. smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

🇺🇸 Pete Hegseth just got absolutely humiliated by Senator Tammy Duckworth! Senator Tammy Duckworth, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who lost both legs while serving in Iraq, challenged Hegseth: "I'm glad you brought that up. Can you name a single country that belongs to ASEAN and explain what agreement we have with it? And, by the way, how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I'm not sure you even know who our allies are." Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth: "Well, I can't give you the exact number, but I certainly know our allies in South Korea, Japan, and Australia..." Senator Duckworth: "None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework before engaging in these discussions." And this is the kind of clueless bullshit running the Pentagon. Absolutely unbelievable.

Her gün binden fazla konteyner kamyonu Yiwu’dan çıkıp Ningbo-Zhoushan Limanı’na gidiyor. Oradan da gemilere yüklenip dünyanın farklı ülkelerine gönderiliyor. Yiwu’nun asıl olayı da burada. Çünkü Çinliler sadece mal üretelim, isteyen gelsin alsın dememişler. Adamlar mal almaya gelen yabancının nasıl anlaşacağından, aldığı ürünü nasıl kontrol ettireceğine ve kendi ülkesine nasıl göndereceğine kadar her şeyi düşünmüşler. Bir yerde binlerce dükkan açmak başka bir şey, o dükkanların dünyanın her yerine mal satmasını sağlayacak sistemi kurmak bambaşka bir şey.

Melania Busted: A Shameless Attempt to Steal Credit from a Ailing Pope In a repulsive new low even for the Trumps, Melania Trump ignited a well-deserved firestorm Friday after her pathologically dishonest husband and his regime had the audacity to credit her with single-handedly securing a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the city of Oleshky. The grotesque claim was instantly blasted by critics who called out the regime for trying to hijack credit from Pope Leo. In a display of true selflessness that puts the Trumps to shame, the cancer-stricken pontiff had already called Russian President Vladimir Putin to request the Oleshky ceasefire a full week before Melania announced her fictional deal. The Pope made that critical call from his hospital bed, where he is currently fighting for his life and recovering from lung cancer surgery. Yet, completely unbothered by the timeline, Melania's top adviser, Marc Beckman, shamelessly brushed aside the Pope's vital intervention to insist the achievement belonged to the First Lady alone. "Yesterday she brokered — single-handedly brokered — a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine within the area of Oleshky," Beckman bragged on Fox & Friends Weekend on Saturday. In a staggering twist of delusion, Beckman even claimed that Melania inspired the Pope to get involved, rather than the other way around. Equally detached from reality, Donald Trump is doubling down on his wife's rewritten history, telling reporters with a straight face that she is "doing better than the professionals right now." To top off the entire embarrassing spectacle, Melania herself later added, "It is great to have [the] Pope’s support."
