President @HassanSMohamud joined our citizens gathered for the national celebrations ahead of National Independence and Unity Day.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the President commended the unity, solidarity, and peaceful spirit demonstrated by our youth. He noted that such unity and social cohesion are essential to safeguarding Somalia’s stability and advancing national development.
He further called on all Somalis to “unite our minds, our strength, and our collective resolve to safeguard our hard-earned gains and together achieve the lasting prosperity we aspire to.”

Who is this dreamer guy? 😂 I wonder why a lot of people go to universities if they only get dumber when it comes to reading politics inside their countries.
If President @HassanSMohamud can achieve a breakthrough in Kenya-Somalia relations and convince President @WilliamsRuto that supporting an insurrectionist regional governor runs counter to Kenya's own strategic interests, it will be a massive win for Somalia and the region.
Bringing Jubbaland firmly back under the control of the federal government would clear a major hurdle for Somalia's progress.
If President Hassan Sheikh pulls this off, it could easily secure him a third term. Furthermore, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre would be an excellent choice to step in and lead Jubbaland effectively during that transition.
