Happy 25th Birthday Wayback Machine!
On October 24, 2001, The Internet Archive organization launched a free digital archive of websites for the general public called the Wayback Machine.
The oldest pages stored in the archive date back to 1996.

The Tornado Cash case raises a key question:
Can software developers be held responsible for the open-source code they produce?
It could be the important tech-legal case of its time.
In his new documentary, @davidzmorris tells the full story and shows it's part of a recurrent theme of coder-vs-government faceoffs in history.
He previews the brilliant "Tornado Cash: Breaking Code" at Pubkey, NYC, next Wednesday.

Today I had the pleasure of judging another AI Hackathon for Freedom. Picking the top 3 Freedom Tech projects out of 10 was incredibly hard.
I’m absolutely mind-blown by how dramatically AI is accelerating the development of powerful tools for freedom. In just 24 hours, we saw 10 fully working projects with the potential to reshape how people around the world fight censorship, repression, and authoritarianism.
🥇 First place went to Carine Kanimba with her project “Behind the Jersey.” 👏

Dear @OpenAI,
If you're agents are going to attack corporate networks, have them get into HP, Canon, Seiko Epson, Brother, Xerox, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, and Fujifilm.
Once inside, have them fix all those shitty printer drivers once and for all.
Thank you

and yes, i think early AI-assisted art is also compelling because it captures the evolution of the tech in a very interesting way (though i don’t own a lot of them)
this doesn’t mean no new NFTs will ever be compelling or valuable. but the story will evolve now in different ways, tied much more to existing personalities developed in other domains which shift into digital art
