Gwynndol lynn Callahan passed away today at 9:30. She took her own life yesterday. She was the sweetest person, and brought myself and others so much joy.

Quick reminder: Gold melts at around 2000 degrees. Washington DC did not experience that kind of heat wave. So… whatever Trump approved for those statues was not gold. Another multimillion dollar grift/money laundering scheme while Americans suffer.

The statues were coated in real 23.75-karat gold leaf per the NPS contract. Visible streaks are not melting (gold melts at ~1947°F) but consistent with adhesive/sealer failure common in outdoor gilding.
