When the Oxford children's dictionary discarded dozens of nature-words—"dandelion," "fern," "starling"—as irrelevant to children's imagination and replaced them with words like "broadband" and "cut-and-paste," this inspired act of resistance was born: themarginalian.org/2019/06/1…

German special forces are "very specifically" preparing for a possible war with Russia.
This was reported by Bild according to the commander of the German Special Operations Command (KSK), Andreas Kühne.
Previously, special forces planned operations for approximately three days. Now, they are training to operate for extended periods in field conditions without a set timeframe, to counter tanks, artillery, drones, and electronic warfare systems, and to operate in extreme cold.
The KSK has approximately 1,500 soldiers, and one-third of them are special forces.
In the event of a war, they are tasked with carrying out missions until the arrival of the German armored brigade stationed in Lithuania. According to Kühne, the soldiers can be deployed from Stuttgart within four hours – with all the necessary equipment.
During exercises in the Baltic countries, Germany has already demonstrated the capabilities of the KSK. Kühne believes that Moscow must understand the price of an attack on NATO: it should be so high that Russia would think twice before attacking.

Polish FM Radosław Sikorski:
"There is a myth that has been successfully planted in the West that Russia always wins.
But things don't always go their way.
They lost the Crimean War. They lost the war against Japan. They emerged from World War I with their tails between their legs.
They lost the invasion of Poland. They lost Afghanistan. And they lost the Cold War.
So things can turn out very differently." - @sikorskiradek

“In advance of Israel’s pivotal election on Tuesday, Prime Minister Netanyahu sought for weeks to orchestrate a new airstrike on Iran but ran into resistance from the military’s chief of staff, according to three senior Israeli defense officials and three other people briefed on the matter… A return to war could have potentially disrupted or even delayed the vote.” nytimes.com/2026/10/26/world…

The “preliminary hearing” set for today could be quite interesting & consequential.
It’s not an initial appearance—it’s a probable cause hearing in which the magistrate decides whether to dismiss the complaint. Witnesses could be called, with cross examination by the defense.
While you were sleeping: DOJ files superseding complaint, adds obstruction counts in case against former FBI agents Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides
Preliminary hearing set for today at 11 am.

Love this family dancing. Not professional choreography, just family fun.
When you see a mom and her eight kids dancing in the dark, with nothing but truck headlights lighting up their laughter, you know she’s done her job right. Not because life has been perfect, but because they still find joy in being together. That’s what a strong family foundation looks like, love they can count on, a place where they belong, and the freedom to be themselves. Of all the things a mom can build, nothing matters more. ❤️

Ok, this is like the 5th country to do this, as the US Pentagon rolls out “Fortress America,” preparing major military bases ready to withstand 90 days without electricity & “outside support.”
The American people, however, aren’t being warned to prepare at all.

This is where I am. I actually think the pardon power is an important power, to right some egregious wrongs and leaven justice with a measure of mercy. But at this point it’s been warped into a weapon against the rule of law and I don’t think it can be unwarped.
Chris Duncan spent decades on death row before he was declared innocent last year. Now, there’s an open race to lead the DA’s office that relentlessly prosecuted him. “It’s a change that’s been long past due,” he told Bolts.
