๐ One of the highlights of #RSELC2026 was hearing directly from professionals working on road safety across Latin America. Different contexts, shared challenges, and lots to learn from each other.

This yearโs #RSELC2026 site visit was facilitated by iRAP and GDCI.
Participants explored road safety assessments and safe road infrastructure, and took part in a practical roadside speed observation exercise using laser speed guns.

31 senior road safety leaders from Latin America will join us for a series of learning modules, culminating in an in-person delivery later in the year.

What began as the first Global Road Safety Leadership Course has grown into a global network of people turning evidence, leadership and collaboration into action.

In 2016, @HopkinsINJURIES and the @grspartnership welcomed 59 participants to Baltimore for the first-ever Global Road Safety Leadership Course.

One of the final activities of the course is a team exercise in which participants present road safety strategies for a fictional country.
The exercise brings together concepts from across the course and gives teams the opportunity to present their ideas creatively! ๐จ
๐ฅ We had the opportunity to visit @IIHS_autosafety in Virginia and witness a live truck crash test!
As a signature activity of the course, this visit offers participants a unique perspective on the science and engineering that underpin advances in vehicle safety.

In addition to our @BloombergDotOrg visit, participants also joined a tour led by @GlobalStreets, exploring how infrastructure can be designed to better protect pedestrians, cyclists, and all road users.

We heard from the NYPD, the NY Dept. of Transportation, and @GlobalStreets on efforts to make streets safer. Fellows shared their road safety projects, and we reflected on 10 years of the course.

Valuable insights from Mr. Arif of the Global Road Safety Facility on the critical role governments play in enforcing compliance measures and accountability frameworks for the private sector to better protect PTW workers and strengthen occupational road safety.
