Postgame reaction wit @blakedfs_! We praised Makaih for his play and specifically what he brought offensively, on a night where they lacked some juice on that end. Could Makaih be the go to guy for this season's Lopes? Listen to full show here: youtube.com/watch?v=-gQauc_Z…

Looks like there was a Youtube outage on some videos but both pressers are back live on our page. Our reaction is also live, and I recommend listening on mobile. We will work to get some better audio quality in our postgame reactions, it is our preseason too! Like and subscribe on Youtube! youtube.com/@GoLopesRadio

Had to do it! After a first look at this year's Lopes, @blakedfs_ and I recorded a rapid reaction to everything we saw - Addressing the slow start and clunky offense - Player by player of what we liked - A lot, a lot of Amarion Dickerson praise And much MORE! youtube.com/watch?v=-gQauc_Z…

GCU Head Coach Bryce Drew on health updates: "We expect to have Jaden, Dylan and Caleb all ready this week, and for the game Monday" In regards to Dan Skillings "We are working through some things, we will update you guys once we find some more information out".

And now Behrend is out. Both of them have fouled far from the basket as well, not ideal.

Efe has fouled out with 10:06 left, only played 13 minutes. Behrend with 4 fouls in 15 minutes. Will be something to monitor every night this season.

Encourage you to watch this clip from my interview with Mar this summer, where he talks about blocking shots as a guard. High level stuff from him on that end tonight!

GCU really ramping things up defensively. Steals, blocks, deflections, flying around. They have now extended their lead to 52-35 at the under 16.

Omaha Biliew hits a three with a few seconds left in the half, Lopes now lead 40-30. Final 8 minutes was some much better hoops. Here is the GCU halftime box score. 'Mar, doing it all!

Efe has picked up his 3rd foul here with 1:59 left. In comes Blake Barkley

Really good stretch of play here by the Lopes, slowly coming together. A few good stops and turnovers on the defensive end, and some easier baskets. They now lead 31-27.

Lopes have had a few good possessions here recently, getting better on the offensive end. They are still down 25-22 at the under 8. Makaih leading the way with 10 points and has made two 3's.

Harsh truth here 8 minutes into this game. Western New Mexico is vastly outplaying the Lopes. They lead 15-8, and just have been flat out better. Lopes sloppy offensively, bad fouls, and not contesting/making catches hard enough for shooters. Really sloppy start.

Slow start here in GCU Arena for the Lopes, no doubt. They are down 10-4 at the moment, and offense looks very clunky.

Lots of little touch ups around GCU Arena, many needed. But the updated in arena scoreboard and box score looks fantastic. Really great job here by all involved!

Holloman with great hands to poke the ball away, asserts himself and gets to the basket for an easy lay. GCU is on the board!

Tough start out of the gate. GCU two turnovers, two buckets by Western New Mexico. Then they hit a 3, it is 7-0 Western New Mexico.

Tonight's starters for the Lopes: Tre Holloman Jaden Henley Makaih Williams Blake Barkley Tyler Behrend 10 minutes from tip here at GCU Arena!

A million students here tonight, really impressive turnout. 24 minutes to tip and it is completely full on their side of the arena.
