BYU standout Kihei Akina is making his sixth PGA Tour start this week in Bermuda.
He’s doing so while competing against his cousin, Nixon Lauritzen, a junior at Grand Canyon and winner of last spring’s NGI, which earned Lauritzen this exemption. Lauritzen’s dad is the brother of Akina’s mom.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has signed an executive order allowing Class of 2022 college athletes at Ohio universities to compete in the 2026-27 academic year, even if they've exhausted their NCAA eligibility.
The order opens up a 5th season of eligibility for athletes. It prohibits Ohio colleges from enforcing NCAA eligibility restrictions

Having just listened to the oral argument in Wisne v. NCAA at the 10th Circuit, I think the NCAA will win 3-0 and it won't be close. With attorney Rakesh Kilaru arguing for the NCAA, the NCAA had a great day in court. The nationwide injunction is highly likely to be reversed IMO.
A showdown over NCAA eligibility arrives Tuesday at the 10th Circuit.

Confirmation of what we reported a couple weeks ago, that the 5 departing schools would each pay slightly under $10m each in exit fees and Oregon State/Washington State would each play slightly more in poaching fees for a grand total in the low $70m range.
NEWS: The @MountainWest is getting $49 million from the five schools leaving for the @Pac12, according to copy of settlement copy obtained by @Sportico.
That’s about half the MWC originally sought—and a couple million more than it was holding back.
