APPEAL I Were you travelling on Jesmond Dene Road, close to the Blue House roundabout in Newcastle at around 4.25pm on Friday, October 18?
You could be a witness to a serious road collision which has left a teenage boy, aged 17, with serious injuries.

In light of today’s bombshell news, our Group Leader, Cllr Colin Ferguson, has issued a public statement. 👇
@cpferguson87
Newcastle's Labour leader is the subject of a bullying complaint from a senior council officer.
Nick Kemp was made aware of the complaint from Michelle Percy earlier this month.
Council yet to decide if it will mount a full investigation.

Great to be at the Mela yesterday with the wee man. Exhibition Park was heaving. It was so good to see that recent weeks’ riots weren’t deterring anyone from attending!

Gosforth has one of the few surviving post-war prefab estates in Newcastle, and are still lived in and well looked after. Remarkable little things.
These "temporary bungalows" were erected to satisfy the overwhelming demand for housing after the German raids of WWII left many homeless. Over 200,000 homes were destroyed in the war, with many of these in the city.
They were intended to only last a decade and were placed mostly in reclaimed land or bomb sites. Walker, Blakelaw, Denton and Lemington were the predominant sites but they were pretty much everywhere.
Not too many survive though. Up here there's pre-fab estates here, Blaydon, Penshaw and Sunderland.

Minor inconveniences with practical consequences: a short 🧵
Glass caddy gone after yesterday’s bin collection. A first world problem, perhaps, but if Newcastle Labour get their way in March’s budget debate, I’d have to pay to replace it in future, through no fault of my own. /1

We’re aware that unofficial signs have been displayed in our car parks asking people to scan a QR code to pay for parking.
If you see one, please report it to the police and do not scan the code.
We do not accept payment this way and you may find yourself out of pocket.

Tonight, I’ve received an assurance that Cabinet members who have any allegations of bullying substantiated against them will be asked to resign, but I’m not sure we received an assurance that the Leader is not currently aware of any such concerns.
