My grandmother Millie Binion (née Holt) died last night. She was 91. Her parents moved her to LA in the ‘30s to make her the black Shirley Temple. Grew up in studio lots of Hollywood's "Golden Age" as a bit player. Here's a recording of her talking about it. I'll miss her voice.
