Attention all companies: I never want to use your AI assistant on your website. I want to use *my* AI assistant on your website

There are a lot of leftists who just idolize and romanticize the drudgery of labor. Ironically, Marx was extremely against this and envisioned a future where tech got so good that there would be very little "socially necessary labor"

Why did the left write AI off as hype?
@GarrisonLovely: deference to the stochastic parrots PhDs, pattern-matching to crypto and the metaverse, and a "comforting story."
The capitalist goal, he says: "take the share of returns to capital to 100% and labor to 0."

I hate to say it… it does look a lot like the artifacting from people not using my interpolation Lora correctly.

Artist secret:
If you see an artist with a loose style and they suddenly draw something intricate and detailed... it's likely that they're bad at drawing the thing. If they were more fluent, they could simplify the style.

It cannot be overstated how deeply "lolcow" culture is built on people who are just as if not more embarrassing than their subjects.
Deeply socially awkward people who want you to look at other people so that you don't look at them. And they don't have to look at themselves.

Actual software engineer here.
Vibe coding is when you use AI to write software without manually reviewing every single line of code. Instead, you rely on empirical tests, formal verification, and static analysis to verify that your code is correct.
Rewrites like the Discord rewrite are prime targets for vibe coding because you can easily verify them. Just take the old code, run it with a ton of random inputs (this is called fuzzing), and compare the output with the new code. Your rewrite is done when the output is always the same.
As for how you know it's vibe coded? Everything is vibe coded these days. Software engineers don't write code by hand anymore. Instead, we herd clankers writing code.

This can be a golden age of investigative journalism. Analyzing filings, records and public data to go deep into a company or government or whatever used to be something that took a team of journalists a long time, so was relatively rare. Now LLMs can 10x investigative research.
