Hermes Agent v0.23 is out: 10,080 commits, 850 issues closed. The change I care about most: your whole Desktop workspace now opens in a browser tab, served by your own gateway. Off by default, and it means Hermes from any device on my network.
Other things I noticed:
CLI, Desktop, bots and cron attach to one gateway now, so a chat is the same chat everywhere. Before, each surface ran its own copy and they wrote over each other.
Images render inline in the terminal, real pixels in Kitty and Ghostty.
You can rewind a conversation mid-chat and edit a queued prompt before it runs.
Paid MCP tools show a price tag and a per-chat spend limit.
Plugins update themselves. Catalog went from about 600 to 1,050+ entries.
Speed fix I use every day: patch and write_file went from 10.1s to 0.06s with LSP on.
Upgrade warnings and link in the reply.

/Rewind is the feature I'd try first. An agent that can undo a bad tool call without restarting the whole session saves more time than a faster model on the next turn.

Spending more tokens on UI mostly pays for more rounds of looking at the result. An agent that takes a screenshot, compares it with the target and tries again gets close to good taste after a few rounds.

Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash now makes video clips up to 15 seconds long, up from 10, and costs 30% less than the last version.
It's rolling out today in the Gemini API, Google Vids, and Gemini for business. Video costs 7 cents per second at 720p. You can change a finished clip with a follow-up message instead of generating it again.
If you don't code, you'll probably meet it first in Google Vids and Flow. Faces and brand colors stay the same from the first frame to the last, which makes it a good fit for product clips and ads.

Proactive agents are a different product than chat. Once they can run computer tasks with their own memory and tools, the useful ones will be the ones you leave overnight, not the ones you babysit.

For teams that kept regulated data away from the API, this changes the conversation. The records stay on your side and an automated agent does the review, so the open question is which workloads legal will now approve.

Breaking!🔥OpenAI released GPT-Image-2.6, in two versions: Flare and Sunburst. Both are in ChatGPT and Codex from today, on every plan, desktop, mobile and web.
The two things I care about: it does GIFs now, and it accepts reference images.
On speed they say 50% faster. We'll see if that holds once you throw a real prompt at it.
Pricing: $8/$5 input, $30 output, same for text-to-image and image-to-image.

And just like I said in my article , this is going to be come also a PERMANENT cost for business , to be able to defend properly.

If Codex stores the code itself, the agent stops being a visitor in someone else's repo. Branches, history and reviews could be designed around agents from the start.
OpenAI will acquire developer tools startup Pierre Computer as it moves into territory long dominated by Microsoft’s GitHub, Axios reports.
OpenAI plans to integrate Pierre's code storage technology into Codex, expanding the AI coding tool into the infrastructure where developers store and manage code.

Tencent released Hy4 today, its new flagship open model, and the API price stayed where it was.
770 billion parameters in total, 49 billion active at once, 1 million tokens of context. First Hy model that reads images natively, charts and visual math included.
It also does Computer Use: terminal commands and clicks inside desktop apps, trained on Blender, CAD and long jobs across several programs.
Hallucinations fell from 15.76% to 5.45% against the August preview. GameDev +19.1%, GameLogic +9.8%, multimodal agent +36.8%, document tasks ~97% done.
On 579 real financial tasks it leads the open models at 3.04, ahead of DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash at 2.97. On Tencent's own agent benchmark it matches or beats Claude Opus 5.5 at about one eighth of the output price.
Still behind the top closed models on research math and very long coding sessions. $0.83 per million input tokens, $2.50 output.

An AI agent searched thousands of lung cancer compounds and proposed new designs in about an hour.
You can try it today in Google's Antigravity app with its Science plugin. Google is also giving 10,000 scientists free access, if selected.
The search started from two lung cancer drugs, crizotinib and lorlatinib. Lorlatinib is a ring with no free-twisting joints. Crizotinib has five. The most rigid compounds were the most potent.
Work that used to take days of chemistry can now end in a shortlist. Every design still needs a lab test, but the lab starts with a sharper list.

Goldman Sachs just pulled AI coding tools from most of its traders and bankers.
Only engineers keep Claude Code and GitHub Copilot now. Bloomberg reports it, citing internal guidelines from October.
The reversal came fast:
1. In July, the bank's CIO Marco Argenti praised "vibe coding," where non-technical staff build a quick prototype with AI.
2. Now a spokesperson says the experimentation phase is over.
3. The reasons given are "productivity and risk management," and staff are reportedly frustrated.
For the rest of us, the good news is that a prototype you build on a weekend belongs to you, and nobody needs to sign off on it. Keep poking at it at home, where you can experiment without a risk committee watching.

This is gonna be huge. Chinese models being able to be independent are going to make a huge impact on the market. Also xiaomi coming with their first Ai pc soon is important .
This represents the next significant step that China - and by extension, Huawei - is attempting to take: achieving as much independence as possible from the U.S. and from NVIDIA chips.
That is why, for DeepSeek v5, they have opted to conduct the training almost entirely on Huawei’s own chips.
The rationale behind this is that by breaking away from U.S. chips to the greatest extent possible and keeping development within the domestic market, China retains its leverage - specifically regarding rare earth elements - over the West, without having to rely on Western goodwill for the supply of chips.

Sam Altman says AI is now mostly smarter than the smartest scientists. He did not name the test behind that.
He said it in Abu Dhabi at ADIPEC, the same event where ADNOC became the first energy company to run OpenAI's most advanced models, for field planning.
The one hard example is disputed. OpenAI says 10,000 agents running an unreleased GPT model worked for about four days and solved one of the seven Millennium Prize problems, the famous unsolved maths questions. Mathematicians are arguing over credit, the Clay Mathematics Institute has recognised no solution, and the model is not out yet, so nobody can check it.
The numbers he gave were about usage. Six years ago OpenAI's heaviest internal user went through 100,000 tokens a month. The top user now goes through 500 billion.
He also promised no handoff to AI, with people in control. That part is a promise from a stage.

Server-side threads matter most for agents. A long tool loop resends a lot of context every turn, and sending only the new message plus an ID should cut both latency and cost.

DeepSeek released a GitHub coding agent that waits to be asked, then handles several requests at once.
It's an MIT-licensed research prototype, so the code is free to read, change, and reuse.
1. When an allowed user asks for work, the agent opens a task, works in its own session, and replies in the same conversation, often with a pull request.
2. It stays quiet unless someone asks or a rule allows it.
3. In DeepSeek's simulation, 95 out of 100 tasks finished within 15.7 minutes, down from 29.5 with a single-session agent. The tests used fake messages, so real coding quality wasn't measured.
Setup needs Node.js, git, Python, tmux, and the GitHub CLI. The agent also gets full access to your user account, so use an isolated environment.
The part I like most is the idea: an agent that speaks only when a person has to act. Even if you never run it, the code is free to read, which makes it a practical way to see how these agents work.

I agree with this one. Too many people think going and maxing the thing all the way it’s the best thing. But sometimes it’s even worse because the model OVERTHINK. This is the sweet spot, sharp and less overthinking.
