I keep hearing about regression, specifically about the Bears.
The main argument(s) I see are turnovers and comebacks.
Re: Turnovers
I don't think many Bears fans expect 30+ turnovers this year, but overall the defense will be better on a down to down basis thanks to getting healthy and improving the overall skill and speed in the 2nd and 3rd level. (That is unless everyone gets hit by a truck again this year.) It's completely valid to expect "regression" on the total amount of turnovers while seeing a much better unit playing then we had in 2025.
Re: Comebacks
While exciting I don't think any Bears fan, or anyone in the building at Halas Hall expect comebacks to be a consistent thing for this offense. Ben and Co. want to beat the brakes off teams before the 4th Q hits, and with another year to build upon in a offense that was mostly ran by 1st and 2nd year players, I think the hope is that "comeback regression" comes from not needing to do it anymore as opposed to some fallacy that we need to survive off them as a team to win.
With a (projected) more difficult schedule I can see a situation where the Bears win 10 games and still have improved across the board as a team because of HOW they won those 10 games.
Progress is never linear, but I have no doubt we got the sauce to make it work long term in Chicago.
We are just TWO DAYS away from the 24-hour livestream and we've already raised $1,712 for @freddietarian let's continue to smash these milestones, and in case you forgot, all donations are giveaway entry eligible! Every little bit matters!
