Sickening.
BREAKING: Rodil Zalameda is the new Chief Justice, replacing Alexander Gesmundo who will retire on Friday, November 6. The 63-year-old Zalameda was appointed to the Supreme Court on August 6, 2019. He previously served as associate justice of the Court of Appeals, where he later chaired its 17th Division. He wrote the Supreme Court decision that acquitted former First Lady Imelda Marcos of seven counts of graft after the SC ruled that the prosecution failed to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt. He also authored the landmark ruling in Deduro v. Maj. Gen. Vinoya, where the Supreme Court held that “red-tagging, vilification, labeling, and guilt by association may threaten a person's right to life, liberty, or security and may justify the issuance of a writ of amparo.”

Eto yung sinasabi ko. Mas may effect sa kanila yung pagtawag/usap sa rep nila.
Guys, guys, I just called my Dem Congressman's office to tell him I don't want Jeffries as speaker and before I was even done with my preamble, the staffer said, let me guess what you're going to say...he said he's been hearing it all day and then he asked me what I'd like to see Democrats do and had a 10 minute conversation with me. He even asked me to repeat some items from my laundry list so he could write it down. I also called my Senator. Who has also been getting calls about new leadership. Call your reps!

NEW: Meet incoming speaker Hakeem Jeffries’ donors: Anduril and Palantir executives, Wall Street investors, crypto lobbyists, and donors funneling contributions through AIPAC. We followed the money behind Hakeem Jeffries. readsludge.com/2026/11/04/th…

Abdul El-Sayed outperformed Kamala, Biden, Hillary, and Slotkin in a swing state by running on Medicare for All and being framed as the anti-Israel candidate. There’s a lesson to be learned here!

Listen to the historians. 🔥
It’s my duty as a historian to remind you that one of Obama’s biggest blunders was not prosecuting any members of the Bush/Cheney administration or the Wall Street crowd behind the 2008 crash, granting impunity to war criminals, torturers, and white collar criminals. Let’s not repeat history.

people in Southern Italy can't buy food because diesel is too expensive for truckers to be able to get a living wage out of their job because you decided to start a pointless war in Iran just one example off the top of my head
Legitimate question: if you don't live in the U.S, why do you give a fuck about the politics here?

If the Democrats don’t replace Schumer and Jeffries as their leaders, they will deeply regret it. Both of them are extremely unpopular, had nothing to do with yesterday’s wins, and will deliver the country right back to the Republicans, who should really be put away right now.

Grabe yung level of racism na ginawa nila kay Dr. El-Sayed. And much of it also coming from his own party.
Don’t care what any centrist says about Abdul’s win, especially not ones outside Michigan. Don’t talk about it if you didn’t get mailers like this daily. The ads on tv were so racist that my 3-year-old could tell and asked why they were so scary. Can’t tell me that didn’t matter.

Biden and Harris did Israel's bidding. Lost miserably. Republicans did Israel's bidding. Lost miserably. Notice a pattern?

Cannot overstate his contribution to the dem's blue tsunami. He supported most/all DSA candidates, became the punching bag of both repub and dem "centrists" and distracted them so angry voters could see his points clearly. He really deserves the credit - and his flowers 🌺
Genuinely Hasan Piker deserves his flowers now for revitalizing the youth vote for the democrats and shifting the conversation back to the popular/populist policies. If the centrists say it's a big tent, then they should act like it's a fucking big tent

We’re not talking enough about how the median age of our elected officials absolutely plummeted last night. I know y’all saw the new Iowa Governor Rob Sand shredding on his skateboard. He’s 44. Talarico is 37. El-Sayed is 42. About damn time for younger leadership. LFG! 🤘🏻

It's also striking how the zionist controlled media is calling El-Sayed's stunning victory a "barely won" battle when the numbers defy this characterization, and he went up against AIPAC, a backstabbing Michigander, eternal Islamaphobia from all media, so much money, etc.
Many people, including @neeratanden, whose chosen candidate ended up being a MAGA Republican, said Abdul El-Sayed would win by thinner margins than Elissa Slotkin in 2024. Elissa Slotkin won by 19,006 votes. Abdul El-Sayed won by 334,962 votes (and counting)

The critical analyses I've been reading all say the same thing: the old/current senate leadership PURPOSELY did not support their own candidates to blunt the growing (and obviously popular) DSA part of their party. Jeffries/Schumer have to be removed.
Both Florida and Louisiana were big misses by Dem Senate Leadership. Both were within a few percentage points, and both got almost no money. The victories last night were in spite of Democratic leadership, not because of it. Schumer needs to go.

This was Mamdani’s midterm: After he won, Republicans gloated that he would drag down the party across the country, as every Democrat would now have to answer for this crazy socialist. Some centrist Dems warned about that too. As @krystalball notes here, instead, in one form or another, every Democrat adopted a version of his politics

Something to bring up in the next faculty meeting.
Google announcing that schools banning AI will also lose access to Google Search is a pretty good opportunity to teach the next generation that Google isn’t the internet and that there are plenty of alternatives to its platforms. Maybe it’s time schools started exploring them.

Philippines, take note: Kasi issues of economic inequality are the same everywhere dahil capitalism ang current economic system natin. It's designed FOR inequality kaya the winning response should also translate (with local flavoring, of course).
Bernie Sanders and AOC spent the last two years crisscrossing the country fighting Donald Trump by marrying a defense of democracy against authoritarianism with a critique of economic inequality. Last night showed their approach was correct. jacobin.com/2026/11/midterms…

It's absolutely incredible that Americans are still asking the rest of the world this question in 2026. We give a fuck because WE HAVE TO and sometimes it feels like we care more than you do. You did, afterall, vote that thing in TWICE.
